Lately, for like nearly 100 chapters we see fight after fight that Gatts using berserk armour and going into a berserkers trance.
For once, I would like to get the old style fights back in which he fought with apostles with everything he got as a HUMAN and not as a human-demon hybrid they made him out to be.
I want him to deliver the final blow to Griffith as a human and not in clad in magic demonic armor fighting with no thoughts other than fight itself.
I want Caska to comeback already
I want to know if Moon child that keep saving him is his and Caska's demon child which got purufied after Egg demon became a vessel for Griffith or Elf King
I want to know how skull knight become so powerful without turning into a demon himself as a human, how come he lived for so long.

I really do hope the Berserker armor gets ditched for kne of the more major fights. I like it and it brought a new side to the fights that helped make them more interesting, but I would be pretty disappointed if the fights against Zodd, Griffith he Neo Band of the Hawk and whoever else all amounted to Schierke telliing Guts not to go berserk, but then he does, then he wins the fight and Schierke pulls him back.

The raw, brute, violence made me invest myself very deeply.
My favorite thing is the romance between Casca and Guts and how finally, despite his hatred, he still comes back before it's too late.
Conviction put me on the edge of my seat and made me shed tears of relief.
I had to stop reading because it was too much to take at some moments.
It's one of the best manga ever written and I hope we will see the end of this journey

I love the sense of adventure, I loved watching Guts grow and how all the shit he experienced moulded his character, I love watching the relationship between Guts and Berserk grow and twist into pure hatred. I loved watching him grow to appreciate the company of the Band of the Hawk/Falcon. I loved watching his love for Casca endure through all the shit they went through. I love the banter between his current party. I love watching Schierke and Farnese learn from her journey and each other. It just goes on

Elf dust is kind of a cheat, but if it didn't exist, Miura could still make it work by adding hospital scenes and scars all over Guts' face. It'd kill the pacing so there's that elf dust plot device to clean everything up after a fight, but it doesn't change the fights themselves.
Guts' rage has something very cathartic, we don't need to see it all the time but I miss it now

Yeah, elf dust is needed even if it's kinda cheap. Guts would have died before the Golden Age arc if it wasn't for that healing trick. Am I the only one who doesn't like the extremely scared Guts? I liked it a lot more before he got those electricity scars all over his face.
Lets hope they keep up the joy and malice in guts when he fights demons. Its 23 chapters (episodes? and how long will they be?) from what I read, so it will probably be like 6 for black swordsman arc, 5 for lost children and the rest tower of conviction?

Elf dust is okay, it's just a way to not kill the pacing. I don't like Berserker armor though, Guts could fight Zodd before he got it. No need to draw oversized enemies and create an armor to justify Guts beating them
Berserker armor looks cool as fuck when guts isn't in berserk mode. When he's just wearing it casually. I also like that grey streak of hair. His most recent design is just cool as fuck to me.
I honestly wish this was just one of godos armors instead of magical armor because I really like the design.

I do miss that darkness from the Tower of Conviction and Lost Children arcs but I can dig how it is right now because it just helps to show how Guts has managed to finally move on from the Band of Hawk. However, I do get the feeling we are going to see them die sometime soon, this happy adventure has gone on for too long and with Guts being Guts tragedy has to occur.

Then there's the rest of the world. Spirits, monsters and demons are running around and rampant, causing death and chaos for anyone who isn't in falconia.
As for casca, her regaining her sanity won't be so simple. Skull Knight may have foreshadowed some unwillingness to heal or she might go even crazier and become crushed by sorrow.
And let's not forget the behelit guts' party still carries. Someone in the group may suffer some loss or sorrow so deep that they use the behelit. Or it might be someone they meet.
This lighthearted theme going on now is similar to the happiest moments of the golden age. That darkness will return. Its just a calm before the mighty, unyielding storm. Just you wait.
I love Berserker Armour. It's so freaking cool and it has a lot of set backs, making it balanced. However, I agree that the whole ''Guts vs Berserker'' must end. I expect in Skellig somehow he learns how to control it, so we can finally get rid of that as a plot.

I think we're getting back to a point where it will get dark. It the very near future it may remain optimistic, especially if Casca turns out okay when she gets her mind right, but Guts getting his party together and Griffith working towards Falconia has been necessary character development for both of them for what will probably be the next step in their rivalry. I don't know what will push him to do it, but something is bound to happen that will drive Guts back into fighting Griffith and the war that comes with that will probably not be as lighthearted as the journey to Elf island.

The problem is that there are a lot more apostles almost as strong as Zodd. Sheer quantity can easily overwhelm him.
All the armor does is enable Guts to treat the no-name apostles as trash mobs (back then, it was pseudo-apostles, which normally were only corrupted humans). The amount of named apostles with their strong abilities is enough to still easily shred Guts to pieces if for whatever reason they decide to stop playing around, and his more durable armor won't really save him from getting slaughtered.

There is a lot of effort put into it, Miura takes things from his personal life and the media he likes and makes a gory medieval fantasy series out of it. And the artwork is amazing.
The fight in the Lost Children arc sealed the deal for me.
Miura does such a good job of filling the reader with frustration and anger, then channeling those feelings through Guts.
The panel where he douses himself in fetus juice is the greatest part, I actually felt like one of the background characters thinking this guy is unstoppable.

The thing is that there were multiple times that a serious/tragical scene was taking place, and literally every panel had Puck making some stupid comment, all the while being drawn in this stupid comedy-manga-style. Why set up a dark, gritty atmosphere with incredibly detailed artwork, when you're going to throw in some comic relief figure which is pretty much every manga stereotype ever. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of the fairies, I think it adds to the fairytale aspect as you wrote, but it's just executed completely backwards IMO.

For that matter, how old is any Berserk character? Griffith met Casca when she was twelve and in the years that passed he looked like he hadn't aged at all. Guts should only be in his early twenties by now yet he looks older, although that could be explained by all he's been through. I'm also not sure of the age gap between Rickert and Erica.

I hope to god the reason Miura is slow as balls on these releases is because Falconia is going to be some seriously intricate stuff plot wise and once he works it all out chapters will flow like a dam being broken.
How do you all think this is going to be censored in the new anime? My guess is they'll leave in the male quasi-apostle elf dicks, but censor Rochine and the few instances of female quasi-apostle elf pussies. Because the Japanese are sexist when it comes to showing genitals. Or they might just skip Lost Children entirely so they don't have to rush other stuff

Because Guts's group is SUPPOSED to be highly characteristic of childishness, naivete, youthfulness, love, desperation but craftiness, etc. It is what sets the stage for their magic usage (magick and the esoteric irl being all about the usage of symbols/sigils in order to change/manifest reality, since most major concepts in Berserk have a psychological/philosophical aspect as much as a supernatural one), the only way to truly overcome God Hand and Griffith, who are more or less manifestations of the Dionysian ideal in Nietzsche's philosophy (and as far as philosophy goes, Nietzsche is the ultimate rubicon, the pinnacle).
Also, Miura is building his own world with characters he wants. We know that he really likes stories with strong world building and lore. He established an awesome setting with the Golden Age and has been taking advantage of it since then. So when there's new characters that don't seem completely relevant to the main plot (Guts' and Griffith's rivalry), it would be because he's just taking advantage of the great world he set up... which honestly I don't see a problem with. I like all the side stories he writes and think they just make the Berserk universe richer or more human.

Dude, you are blowing these things out of proportion simply because of the release rate of chapters. Trust me. I have reread the series multiple times in book format and say with 100% sincerity that the pacing never feels off, and nothing ever overstays its welcome. What makes it easy to think that way is when you starting reading it this late in the game, and/or just speed read it once, and then just sit and read chapter by chapter as they come out impatiently.

The only thing is Wyald... I like his character but I thought he went overboard with the fight and Guts got too injured during it, to just up and start kicking ass like he did during the eclipse. But overall it's kinda minor.
Also, I think the latest chapters' drawing style is a result of Miura's frequent breaks, which if you were to read it continuously may look strange. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
I don't think Miura is incapable of making mistakes, but I don't think Berserk really has any serious ones... yet.

I also just disagree with the whole sentiment, because you are basically pushing for there to be massive story progression in a short amount of chapters, but Berserk has never been for impatient, hyperactive readers. Golden Age took about 6 years to cover, you know. In a way the story keeps getting darker even. We see Falconia as being this beautiful, luxurious shrine for people to go to, but at the same time we know what had to happen for that to come into existence and what had to happen to the REST OF THE WORLD too. The darker side of Berserk didn't disappear at all, it just became more refined and subtle.
