I think that is what made Dandy a wild ride.

Dandy's not really a laugh out loud funny show most of the time. You have stuff like the the parallel universes episode and the high school musical episode which are hysterical, but then you have the undies vs vests episode and it's a stinker.

You're comparing apples to oranges.
Music has much lower barriers to entry, and is much cheaper and less work-intensive to produce, (unless you're dealing with orchestral music) whereas animation requires massive manpower and organization. (unless you're dealing with solo internet animators)

Where the Japanese Dandy felt like he was trying to do a smooth yet hot blooded cool guy, English Dandy felt too aggressive and jerkish. I feel like some of the character was lost by wearing those aspects of Dandy on the sleeve like that.
