Next week Mizukami Satoshi's manga Spirit Circle will have its final chapter published. In honor of the threads we've had over the past few years, I'll be dumping the entire manga in the next seven days.
To anyone not familiar with Spirit Circle, this is the perfect time to catch up.
sweet
Perfect opportunity to update that chart

>Just heard about this last week
>Its already ending
Well shit
>>139108233
>this is the perfect time to catch up.
It's not
uh oh
>>139108872
At least you won't have to suffer the waiting time between chapters like us.

Would "an end" be a better translation?
Why is this ending? Is this shafted?
>>139110448
The story is over.
Mizukami is not one of those that milk a series at expense of the plot like other authors.
>>139110594
That's good, then. I like Biscuit Hammer, been planning to read this for a while.
>>139110448
No, why would you even think that?
The story is just coming to the end, they already finish all the reincarnation and the story is pretty much all wrap up. The only thing left would be the epilogue.
>>139110720
I wish it wasn't so sudden, though.
>>139110718
He has another manga called Sengoku Youko I really enjoy. You should check it out if you liked these two.
>>139111039
SY is ending soon too, we're just way behind on scanlations.
Even after reading almost the whole thing, this chapter still makes me mad for him.
What a way to start a manga.
>>139108281
Isn't it up to date already?
>>139111297
Nnnnnnnnoooooooo!!!!! Hopefully a group will pick it up and start releasing chapters faster.
I can't wait for his next story after both of these end.
>>139108872
It's actually a good thing really, it's not like it's getting cancelled or anything.
>>139112045
They already are being released as fast as possible. A new set of people got together to speed up releases because the Vexed guy no longer had enough time.
>>139110879
Does feel a bit sudden, at least a couple more chapters for the epilogue.
>>139112150
I have noticed them popping up on batoto more often. Is there somewhere else to get it faster?
>>139112456
They are getting posted on here on Saturday mornings now.
The plan is to catch up (about 20 chapters behind right now) in time for the finale.
>>139112712
Ah, nice. I'll have to watch out for that.
here we go
>>139113032
Did he have to think about her specifically or was "Rune" enough? Perfect setup for accidental summon, could be another way to start the series.
>>139113113
He probably would have remembered her at some point anyway, especially if Kouko did too.
>>139111039
SY is my least favourite of his big 3 works (not counting his debut and short stories compilation). It seems to lack something
>>139113292
It's my least favorite too, unless when it focuses on Shinsuke. I love this guy.
>>139113292
It doesn't have as much of a focus? Samurai guy is the main character, then his girlfriend gets rocked and he goes and drinks while Senya goes from creepy monster to awesome main character, and we're not sure from Senya's snow vision if we're going to see his whole life too. The snow vision was a really cool touch, letting us see how much more of his heroic life there is, but I could never really pin down SY.
>>139113292
SY is my favorite honestly, it's not his best in terms of writing quality, Spirit Circle is way above and Samidare is a tad better too but I think it has the best characters, the time progression is especially good too.
I still don't get how Rune spirit traveled into the past.
>>139113459
>Samurai guy is the main character
He wasn't the main character until Jinka got sidelined.
>>139113969
I don't think you're meant to.
>>139113969
Might have something to do with how she wasn't in any of the other timelines. Or why she's so scatterbrained. She's tied to Fuuta so maybe she follows his spirit progression?
>>139114044
Was Jinka ever interesting, honestly?
>>139114378
I was rooting for him getting his demon ending with Tama, but I'm pretty easy to please.
>>139114378
That's probably why Mizukami force-of-nature'd him. I feel like SY wasn't as tightly planned as the other two, although I get the impression he went off-outline on those a few times.
Come back tomorrow for Vann. Anyone have recommendations for his thread music? I should have put something like that in this OP.

I remember just listening to A.Z's OST, good manga reading tracks there.

I was listening to The Oh Hello's when I first caught up on SC in 2013 and it sort of stuck.

>well, it's a long way out to reach the sea
>but I'm sure I'll find you waiting there for me
>and by the time I blink, I'll see your wild arms swinging
>just to meet me in the middle of the road
>and you'll hold me like you'll never let me go
>and beside the salty water, I could hold you close,
>but you are far too beautiful to love me
Makes me think of Vann trekking through his lives looking to meet Rei again.

Part of me really likes the, I wanna say dead eyed look, Kouko gave in the early chapters.
>>139108233
Oh god, you're making it sink in even more.
I'm not sure whether to be happy or to be sad.
>>139116510
Her intro in >>139108784 gets me all the time. She pretty much just kills time until she can kill Fortuna again all day.
>>139116613
That's why Mizukami's such a good author. I am seriously looking forward to whatever he comes up with next. I think he's in his mid-30s? He can't make enough money off of niche manga to live as well as he does, unless that house he bought was way out in the country or something.
Here's hoping he keeps getting better all his life.
>>139113969
She hit 88mph
When Mizukami focuses on how great ordinary life is, it doesn't feel as forced as when other authors do it. One of my favorite moments in everything he's wrote was when Yuuhi was doing shady security work with Crow and he realizes that this is what work is like, this is one of the many kinds of jobs you could have, and now you're here doing it and it's not that bad. We never find out who he was working for or if they were mafia or what, but it's a point where he moves from the childish, imagination-based view of the world as a terrible place that you can't ever really own or own a place in to an adult, experience-based understanding that all that doesn't matter much.
>>139108784
I can't tell if their names are inverted or not. Miyabe sounds like a last name but Nonomura does even more.
>>139113459
I just noticed that samurai bro was foreshadowed here.
That's pretty cool, I guess
>>139113969
I think it was explained somewhere that reincarnation/path of spirits is like a single river going down stream, but you can climb up out of the river and go backwards.
Uhh so is there anywhere decent that hosts volume 5? The batoto and kiss have 1 to 4 and then chapters of 6
>>139118263
Madoka
>>139118263
goddess has CR rips for vol 5.
>>139117653
I'm really curious about what she was doing in all the other lives, if Fortuna's really life #1.
>>139117550
Koko's a ghost of a fallen warrior.

If you're not in the secret club, nyaa seems to still have seeded torrents for most of those.
Or you could stick around for this next week.
