Is Gosick any good? It seems to be highly rated and has a lot of ratings on places like MAL, but I've never really seen it discussed or recommended.

It's a lot like Spice and Wolf. If you're a fujo then you'll probably like it. It's slow, cliche-ridden (average tsundere doing tsundere things with a beta guy).
Nothing special, but not the worst thing in the world.

I really enjoyed it. Has a pretty shitty BONES ending, but other than that it was great. Don't ever listen to MAL, just form your own opinions; If you don't like the first arc you probably won't like the rest of it.

Only watch it if you like tsundere lolis. It is filled with tropes that you've no doubt seen 1000 times by now, but if you like that sort of thing then this might be one of the better shows for it.
If you want something original, you will not find it here.
