I don't know why I enjoyed torodora as much as I did, I can't in objective terms say its a good show yet I loved it.

I think it is. There are few romance anime as good as Toradora. The "greatest love story" thing is obviously a meme, but most romance anime are absolute dogshit and Toradora wasn't.

I think the real kicker of toradora was that it sort of challenge the whole rei tsundere cliche
Taiga actually wasn't a Tsundere in the typical sense,
she started bad tempered toward the male MC but she was ornery toward most people who she wasn't friends with, that was her reputation, so it wasn't like it was just him. and when they did become friends she did stop being a dick to him.
