I think the divide is between old /a/ and new /a/ for the generation change. I dont know when exactly the new /a/ came in but i think its in 2011 or so when SAO came out and after that, the other over hyped shows aired on toonami. Those newfags, now with a prescience of high action, high shock value, looking nice, and shitty story, came to look for more anime then ultimately discovered /a/. Anyway, these newfags should just go to reddit.

Haruhi was a good anime.

Much as I like Nagato, her anime wasn't really what I wanted it to be. Still good, but Haruhi's was better.
Apparently, I gave Haruhi 8,8, and 9 for the movie. I gave Nagato a 7.
And that's saying something. A 7, for me, is pretty critical. If a show doesn't at least get an 8, it usually means I found it at least somewhat unimpressive. I expected more from the Haruhi series after the first two seasons. It's not everyday you get me to watch something like Endless 8 and still like it.
And anything lower than a 7 is usually pretty bad.
Like Oreimo S2 OVAs. I gave that shit a 1. It was a volcanic plane wreck. Like someone flew a show to great heights, and then at terminal velocity, launched a train out of the nose straight into a volcano, only to be further pulverized by the plane hull to come crashing after the melting steel train beams.
God, I hated that series for what they did at the end...
For reference, I gave everything before S2 OVAs an 8/10.
