I doubt anything beats Bebop. It's even one of the best tv shows. It's the definition of what a tv show should be. perfectly paced, episodic, well-structured with good payoff, coherent, sly, subtle delivery of exposition, every character matters and has realistic struggles, antics, communication, sprinkled with thought-provoking themes that aren't forced or poorly developed, no loose ends, clever writing.

How the fuck is episodic the definition of a good show? It comes down to taste, but I personally cannot stand episodic action series and can't get invested in what's happening. Half the appeal of anime is that, unlike Western cartoons, there are lots of series with an overarching plot rather than an episodic structure.
