I'm the only one who think she was one of the worst characters in the show?
Please someone tell me if I'm wrong but the only thing she did was crying and she didn't develop or affect the story at all (well, except for when she became a fucking goddess)

Madoka would've been better as a VN. Being able to see Madoka's inner monologue would have given more context and empathy with her actions and what she was going through, and her final choices would've been more impactful if you were the one who made them. It's blantantly obvious. She starts off as a naive and selfless idealist who wants to help people, and wants to be a magical girl for its own sake. Then she gets traumatized and stops wanting to be a magical girl entirely. Then she watches her friend suffer from the fate of being a magical girl and starts overcoming her fear and wants to be a magical girl for her friend's sake. Then she's stopped and told to reaffirm her convictions. After all of that, she finds her convictions again and focuses her selflessness into something where it'll actually do good. Everything sets up the wish, it's all for the purpose of growing Madoka's character to the point where she can make that decision confidently.

There's not anything wrong with being a normal girl in and of itself, but you're going to write an everygirl main character you have to give her some trait or unique way of thinking that gives her her own character. The problem isn't that she cried all the time, it's that there was absolutely no substance to the way she reacted to the events around her besides "oh no, something terrible happened, so she's sad."
