Say what you will about the above anime, however, anime isn't filled with SoL/cute girls as much as it used to be since the K-On!! Boom.
Even if there are a modicum of anime that doesn't cater to otaku of the lowest common denominator, it still refreshing to know some decent anime can still get made.

Because "reboots" usually indicate that studios finally realize they have run out of good ideas, and in a panic are mindlessly grabbing at anything that actually made them money once.
A reboot is not an S2. Even after the incredible disappointment that was Tenchi Muyo OVA S3, that was still not a reboot. A reboot would be like Tenchi in Tokyo, a series that would have been better if it had never been written with any Tenchi connections.

I'm going to add one more thing here specifically regarding reboots from OVAs. I would make an exception OVA reboots because there really is a long tradition of taking a 6-episode OVA and making a one- or two-cour series from it. (aka Tenchi Universe)
However, this is rare now if for no other reason than that the "original" part of OVA is now all but extinct. Most OVAs these days are instead based on TV series, often being omake episodes from the DVD/BD release.
So I guess I'll have to be okay about FLCL TV. It's not a bad thing, it's just a decade late.
