What anime means the most to you?

Kill la Kill

The one you posted, when I was a kid you see it was all about how hype a show could get and TTGL is the GOAT, as well as imparting great life advice and what it means to be a man
It's for this reason that I put this show on and watch it with any cousin, nephew, or kid that comes over to visit, they all fall in love with it and I beleive it's absolutly essential viewing for any kid
Curently getting /fit/ to become a real life kamina

he's dead, don't be like him
>>139022082
>not wanting to be the kind of person that can inspire people to overcome impossible obstacles and give hope to the hopeless
Yea nah your a cunt
Mushishi. Shit calms down my raging autism
>>139021210
My praido
>>139021210
Still my favorite anime/manga to this day

>What anime means the most to you?
Bleach was my original draw to anime, I was around 14 or 15 at the time and very impressionable. I don't think it's all that hot but if it hadn't hooked me i probably wouldn't be watching anime or reading magna today.
>>139021210
NGE by far.
It literally changed my views and basically teached me for example how important perspective really is.
I'm much more empathetic since then

If you remember, Simon first inspired Kamina without him knowing it. You know, when they were trapped.
Evangelion. First watched it when I was a wee little kid without knowing what I was watching, and later rediscovered it when I was a 14 year old moody teenager with issues in connecting with other people.
First time I watched through it I just knew something resonated with me, but didn't quite catch it. Watched it two or three more times and, the more I watched, the more I realised what drew me in so much.
Now, 8 years later and I'm still a moody little shit with issues in connecting with other people. But I'm doing slightly better.

Haruhi Suzumiya
I don't know why but to me it's the first thing that comes to mind whenever someone mentions the word "anime"
>>139022082
so he wants to be like zyzz
K-On!
Lupin III green jacket series
Gurren Lagann, not so good.
>>139021210
K-On inpspired me to drop music and get fat by eating too much desert.
>>139021210
I would say NGE because it's the most devastated an anime made me in my life. I felt depressed during two whole weeks after that, and I had blank moments of empty sadness just thinking about it during one year. It got better after but damn...
K-On! made me go outside.
>>139026487
Yeah, Haruhi is pretty inspiring in the way she sees life but what really hit the nail on the head is Kyon's monologue in Disappearance
Gurren Lagann and NGE
Thank you Gainax.
Kaiji probably
Serial Experiment Lain.
Something just clicked in me with it.
>>139022246
I keep seeing Mushishi on netflix but I've never started it. Is it good? What's the pitch?
Make way for kino anime fucbois!
>nobtsrsly Laggan is amazing I just prefer this cause episode 4's art style in Gurren bugs the shit out of me to this day
>>139029603
It certainly is good but I don't see where it gets inspiring, it's kind of a downer actually
>>139029663
Mushi are weird nature spirits that exist in the world and do weird nature spirit shit. Sometimes humans come into contact with them, and things happen. Those things can range from "minor inconvenience" all the way to "existential horror".
The main character is some wandering dude who knows his shit when it comes to these Mushi, and helps the poor suckers who come into contact with them.
Hajime no Ippo.
Mad Bull 34.
Lain
It just hit at the right time of my life.
>>139029825
aw ok kl, thanks anon
One of my first anime. It still hurts knowing that there will not be a better one.
>>139030068
No problem. It's a good watch, I'd reccomend it.
I'm torn between GGG and Getter, both of them made me realize how much I like the super robot genre.
>>139029603
>>139029975
Same. Lain resonated with me a lot.

space brothers
>my life was in the shit
>nothing was going ok
>see character slowly build up his life again
>all those characters supporting him along the way
>gradually build up my life as well
>that ending when vince blasts off with the mc watching
>mc has gone this far
>feel so moon plays
bawled my eyes out
My favorites, of course.
Probably comes down to either Kino no Tabi or Geijutsuka.

TTGL got me into space exploration
Texhnolyze. My friend was trying to get me into anime, so we went to a convention. I'd watched some anime before (Bebop, Hellsing, NGE) but it was the first I bought on DVD. I finished the series that night when I got home.
>tfw you will destroy everything, you will hurt many people, you will be all alone at the end.
It's just my favourite.

Kill la Kill
Yuru Yuri. It made me happy for a while.
>>139021210
Animation.
>>139021210
>>139030708
Destrado, is that you?
>>139021210
Boku No Pico. What can I say? I like hentai and little boys.
>>139030790
I'm too new to even know who that is.
>>139028228
Felt the same way the moment I realized that I watched and finished a series for the first time. Fucking cried at night for some reason. I don't do well with endings.
I don't wanna say.
>>139021210
Welcome to the NHK.
>>139030831
;_;
>>139030887
say.
>>139021210
Mushishi. Or maybe Bakemonogatari because it's the show i've watched the most times.the novels are also based
Futakoi Alternative
Made me want twins in my life.
>>139031076
>futakoi
This synopsis is not what I was expecting.
>>139026030
Yet still Simon was inspired by Kamina's acting.
>>139030633
You wake up one day and realize you are a limbless dickless trashhuman.
What do?
>>139021210
This is probably a generic answer, but it'd be bebop for me
>>139031201
Be glad I don't work in a call centre.
>>139031187
It's a winner-winner situation.
I'd say Simon is the most "complete" character of the show as he learned from himself, Kamina, Nia, the Antispiral and other people.
>>139021210
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Not even messing with you, changed a lot.
I had no friends in middle school, toonami and this in particular kept my sanity day after day
>>139021909
>Daddy issues
>Ripoff of another character
>Style over substance
>Death
Very ambitious goal anon
>>139021210
Clannad. Strong themes of reconciling with family and what it means to be family.
>>139021210
Geass. It's been years and I still can't get Lelouch's awesomeness out of my head.
>>139031683
And it was the anime that really got me into anime.
>>139031760
Lelouch is pretty fucking cool.
>>139021210
Probably Kara no Kyoukai. https://youtu.be/dZyoOG0rB2c?t=7m13s
Well, for me, it's this.
>>139030098
Why does he stare like that?
NGE is the one that marked me the most but for a personal favorite it's HxH.
Also, worth mentionning that school days hit me hard as it was one of my first anime but i need to agree that it's shit.
>>139034684
I forgot about Clannad that simply destroyed my soul. Even thought i hated it until like episode 16 of second season.
And finaly Geass, i also didn't enjoy it at all but the ending was so beatifull, it took me a while to get over it.
