On one hand, it was nice to see them actually play some music for once.
On the other, all that just for a bronze prize? Everything up to now seems pointless, and God knows there will never be a second season.

It wasn't good, but is not offensively bad. I enjoyed some parts. This is decent at best and it could qualify as shit for some people.
The dislikeableness of Haruta is what made me like him.
When an anime has a moeblob girl, you instinctively care about her. It's effortless, just recycle the standard archetype formulas that all elicit sympathy.
Haruta, on the other hand, is a jerk and a homo. Making you want to root for him is hard mode. He had to earn my fondness by amusing me with his dickish antics. Anyone he was rude to was often being a douche nozzle themselves so it was called for.
That was also why I like the girls. They were bitchy but not tsundere. Chika charmed them with her hugs and they mellowed out. Nobody was lovable right from the get go as an identifiable stock anime character.
