Dumping a few chapters of Sangokushi whenever I have time now that it's completely translated.
Recap of story so far: Sun Ce's completes his conquest of Jiangdong and the story turns back to Lu Bu.
For those who don't know what this is, it's a faithful adaptation of Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Yokoyama Mitsuteru, the mangaka of Tetsujin 28, Giant Robo, Mars, etc. The art isn't amazing but if you've ever wanted to get into Three Kingdoms but didn't feel like slogging through book, reading this is the easiest way. The 2010 Chinese TV series was alright too, but that skips out on some fun arcs.

How often are courtesy names used here?
I've notice Liu Bei is the only ones who has his used regularly.
Is it difficult translating the names?

In the English translations of the novel, the courtesy names are rarely used outside of a few characters like Kongming. In the Japanese translations as well as this manga, the courtesy names are used a lot more for many characters such as Liu Bei. I originally didn't put much thought into it and just translated the Japanese lines as is. But later on, I became more aware of this and simply stuck to their regular names to make it easier for readers.

Zhao Yun Zilong is a curious counter example. In the manga, I see him referred more often as Zhao Yun, while in the English translations by either Brewitt-Taylor and Roberts, he's more often referred to as Zhao Zilong. I went with Zhao Zilong in my translations, as that's also the version I first became familiar with.

I'm just glad you didn't translate using their Japanese names otherwise I would've had trouble identifying them.
One of the few times in the novel where Lu Bu genuinely comes up with a good idea on his own.
