We got two shows airing concurrently about mecha-based violent armed revolutions but there doesn't seem to be much discussion about how they compare.
Which one does /a/ think has better
>Revolutions/Politics
>Robots
>Waifus
Both are trash.
>>139007630
ibo
One is a toy commercial and the other is a hentai dating sim. So they're both garbage.
>>139007630
Well i know nothing about the gundam series other than robots. But i love the fact that in Schwarzesmarken they replaced the planes with robots but still call them MiG-23s and such. Oh and never seen an anime before with the division of germany as a concept. plus the aliums are top notch imo. And of course they use wierd germanish sounding names which is kind of cool i guess. Sorry what was this thread about again?
>>139007780
every anime has merchandise made
>>139007824
Some are far more merchandise-driven than others.
>>139007822
I've never seen Schwarzesmarken how is it?
>>139007935
yeah but they all rely merchandise/BD sales for money
>>139007937
Well if you love history torture germany and aliens with some anime girls here and there i'd say you should definitely watch it. its been 11 episodes as of now and i still love it!
>>139007988
what about the mechs themselves are the designs good?
>>139007937
It's okay, but it suffers from trying to cover seven LN volumes in only 12 episodes, which means you don't really have time to get to know many of the cast outside of the core handful of most plot relevant characters.
>>139008018
well they use guns that are upscaled to fit the sizes of the mechs. sometimes they even use knives shields swords. sometimes they talk about different types of mechs but other than the main bad characters mech i havent seen any difference in any of them. oh btw there is some politics and military tactics in the anime as well. The fight scenes are awesome the music is awesome. So yeah there you have it.
>>139008232
thanks
>>139007630
Both are very mediocre visually and story wise
>>139007630
Anyone who likes Muv Luv spin-off anime should be shot for the future of mankind. Not even IBO is on that level of bad.
Anime and rebellions don't generally go together very well. The writers always seem to have a very shallow idea of what goes into a revolt. See dumb shit like Akame ga Kill.
Anyway Schwarzesmarken's revolution is better if only for how much of a clusterfuck of conflicting interests and backstabbing it is, between the Party, the pro-Moscow Stasi, the anti-Moscow Stasi, the Nationale Volksarmee, NATO, the KGB, and the BETA.
>>139007630
One has an autist.
>>139008422
are you talking mika or something?
>>139008395
BETA planned reprobate?
>>139007630
Schwarzesmarken has WARSAW PACT PRIDE
so it's better
The only good thing from IBO is the brown semen demon
>>139007937
Its really fucking bad. Nips were shitting on it just from visuals alone since it started right off the bat, calling it an "out-dated early 2000s looking anime" and the characters are nonsensical.
ibo is absolute trash, Schwarzesmarken is miles better and does everything ibo tries to do better
>>139008929
In fairness, Muv Luv is an outdated early-2000s looking franchise.
Also nips shit on everything just so you know. It's an effect of that reworded passive aggressiveness.
>>139009033
No they don't, not like that.
>>139008996
>>139007630
shitposting irisfag
Kudelia and Katia - ''main heroine''
Atra and Iris are side characters with little screen time.
Schwarz>IBO
I've been watching both and this is my honest opinion. I'm also a fan of both franchises.
>>139009227
>Atra
>side character
>little screen time
>>139009307
Go back to your hive, you useless piece of shit
>>139007630
This is what /m/ is for.
>>139007677
Bubuki Buranki is clearly the better of them.
So I'm still curious, what is Ballcrusherverse Jurgen like?
>>139007630
They aren't comparable.
>>139009301
I don't see how you can say that. IBO has better characters, better animation, better music, better robot designs. They only thing Schwarzesmarken does better is waifus.
>>139009573
Jurgen loves cocks
>>139008388
>Not even IBO is on that level of bad.
>Greatest military organization in the Solar System gets kicked in the ass by a bunch of suicidal kids and a edgy manlet
Schwarzesmarken >>> IBO
>>139008395
My money's on the BETA.
>>139009653
>>Greatest military organization in the Solar System
please most of them have never been in a battle before
>>139009593
Yet the one airing in late afternoon for small children still pulls politics better then SM does. Funny huh.
Beatrix confirmed Ork.
>>139009803
IBO is targeted at children? What about the guy who got his arms and legs amputated to become a gundam so he can kill himself some children?
>>139009653
>Schwarzesmarken
>Two of the greatest military alliances on the planet working in tandem get kicked in the ass by a bunch of miners whose only tactic is to throw more shit at something
>>139009642
Not the anon you replied to, but
>better characters
Not really, at all.
>better animation
Yep, but it's not particularly good either, just has the advantage of hand-drawn mechs.
>better music
Really a matter of taste, Schwarz's OST is pretty fantastic, even if taken directly from the VN.
>better robot designs
IBO certainly has more variety, but the few in Schwarz are quite good if you're into MuvLuv's style of mechs.
>>139009867
>Carbon-based creatures
>Capable of creating alliances
>Capable of caring about what happens on their planet
>>139009895
>Not really, at all.
hey the new char clone is great
>>139009864
5pm Sunday slot is IBO
>>139009653
What the fuck are you babbling about? Tekkadan beat a small picket force early in the story, then mainly bluffed their way out of a couple major battles that would've had them wiped out if not for Kudelia and the news company broadcasting the standoff with the Gallajhorn fleet.
>>139009653
What? The outer orbit fleet are basically Mounties. They're there for show.Carta a cute. She tried so hard, I feel bad.
I like the part where Mika leeroy'd carta and killed her fuckboys.
>>139010071
>Carta the best girl.
>>139010146
>leeroy'd
Did they ever find out if Leeroy Jenkins was fake? I hope to God it's real.
>>139010422
That video was staged, but it was based on true events and every single MMO player has seen it happen or has done it at some point during their career.
>>139010071
BUT IN THE END!!
>>139009653
>implying a group of normies that played VR to train is what made them great
>not the money and status
>>139010460
That's kinda depressing.
>>139009666
The Satan trips have spoken.
>>139009129
Not a bait it's the whole damn truth
>>139011398
I love big fat Axmann cock
>>139007630
>Schwarzesmarken
Theodor/mc banged his sister.
In both ways physically.
Suffering levels can potentially pull your heart off and leave you as an empty husk (episode 10)
Seriously though, just ask people to watch both. They're entertaining in their own ways really.
I just prefer Schwarzesmarken but that's just me.
Assman is handsome
IBO has shota suffering and dying child soldiers
>>139013558
Its funny.... Atra hasn't shown any romantic feelings for Mika since episode 14 the same with Kudelia. Its like the writers fogot about the love triangle.
>>139013894
>writers
You mean Okada?
>>139013244
You called?
>>139014051
You should be glad Okada's forgotten about a mecha love triangle.
I've had more fun with SM than IBO.
>>139014967
>the face of fixing a quantum computer
>>139014967
SM has better action/animation and the characters stay on model more often. You know something went horribly wrong when your show is visually inferior to something produced by LIDEN
IBO and it isn't even close. I laugh at how cliche and ridiculous the story of S is compared to IBO. What a joke of a thread.
>>139015274
People who like it probably thought Total Eclipse was good.
>>139015195
>SM has better action/animation
There's barely any animation to begin with unless is 3D CGI in the first place, with CGI sprite models that age already created for the VN and borrow from TE anime made for the TE VN prior to that by Satelight.
>characters stay on model more often
There's plenty of QUALITY in SM and it has half the episodes of IBO.
>Being this chuuni you think its legit to compare a 2-cour anime meant for children with a 1-cour anime meant for adults.
>>139015352
I like both TE and SM, but TE was a definite gem compared to shit like Cross Ange, Valvrave, Gargantia (talk about a failed story), Nobunaga the Fool, A/Z, Buddy Complex, etc...
Why people keep lying that Gretel dies?
Does /a/ hate her?
>>139015519
can't handle the megane
>>139015352
I just hold the original trilogy in high regard so I expect alot more than what I get with Muv Luv spinoffs.
Can someone repost the talk between Beato and Theo during their fight?
>>139015195
I'm guessing it was because of the backlash that Total Eclipse got for being off-model like 40% of the time.
>>139014670
>forgotten
It is you who has forgotten.
IBO surprises me sometimes.
>>139016599
Yep.
>>139016165
RomCom nonsense + fanservice + ecchi + haremshit + self-insert / wish-fulfilment / beta harem MC = Total Eclipse
>>139013894
This was the last time they had a “close moment”, other than the crying in the reentry battle and the fish scene they have hardly interacted in quite some time, but this applies to most character really, I guess they don’t have time to waste.
Is not like Atra had much of a chance against Kudelia really
IBO.
Schwarzesboogaloo doesn't have RoboEin
>>139017225
>Doesn't operate special snowflake highly-advanced machine - that belongs to Yuuya, the unparalleled crusading warrior of humanity who slew 3000 BETA on his first sortie (unless you consider a jury-rigged MiG head on another MiG a highly-advanced machine)
>>139016165
Kouki outright said on his twitter for the last weeks of the show's final episodes that he admitted they gave Satelight next to nothing to animate TE in the first place; hence his comment about it having a literal "shoe-string budget".
>>139017625
Shiranui wasn't a special snowflake machine. You're also completely forgetting early in his career he was already screened and vetted as an elite test pilot who fucking humiliated a trio of Infinites' Raptor test pilots in a 3 on 1 match against him piloting a fucking standard Eagle.
>3000 BETA
This meme is getting old. If' you are claiming this for Theodor, its outright bullshit. If you are saying this for Takeru, he doesn't do this either.
>>139017501
If Atra dies, I'll be pissed.
>>139017523
All you had to say is its better than G-reco.
>>139018236
>The sad theme in the OST is called “fallen flower”
>Atra emblem is a flower
Let’s see what happens next episode
>>139017225
I think, there is simply method to determine whether protagonist is "self-insert", ''wish-fulfilment'' or not.
Just ask: Is there any other character who were able succeed in his/her goal using own skill?
on here >>139017853
> You're also completely forgetting early in his career he was already screened and vetted as an elite test pilot who fucking humiliated a trio of Infinites' Raptor test pilots in a 3 on 1 match against him piloting a fucking standard Eagle.
>>139009377
Well yes I wouldn’t said Atra has a little screen time, she gets at least one scene per episode, but she is only a support character in the end
>>139019263
Pretty sure along side Kudelia, Orga, Biscuit, and Mika she's one of the main characters.
>>139017853
>3000 BETA
>This meme is getting old. If' you are claiming this for Theodor, its outright bullshit. If you are saying this for Takeru, he doesn't do this either.
<--- ????
kirito's plot armor?
operate special snowflake highly-advanced railgun?
>>139018940
/a/ loves self-insert into beta harem MCs that are revealed to be gay, with plot convenience nonsense , created for the (loser/less-cultured) audience, who just wants to feel strong/powerful/successful/loved/whatever. If the protagonist is more nuanced or balanced in terms of their strengths/weaknesses and successes.
>>139013558
Ah, how curious a mirror. SM has loli suffering and dying child soldiers.
>>139020512
We only saw one child soldier die in SM with a name or even on screen. We've seen a shit ton of shotas being killed off in IBO though.
>>139020573
>We've seen a shit ton of shotas being killed off in IBO though.
Well it is a children's show.
>>139020747
That has no bearing on anything. If anything, IBO should be naturally less violent and bloody or graphic about deaths then Muv-Luv spin-offs and side stories are.
>>139020573
Who? Inghild was not a child.
>>139009129
Not wen its true.
All you need is Mr Dick and the adventures of space cripples.
>>139020573
Well, there's also Inghild who died brutally, though she was nearly an adult.
It's inferred there's lots of kids in general in the forces. Also rape, lots and lots of girls get raped.
I know not really SM, but Yui's whole loli class got destroyed, two eaten to death very brutally. And then there's the Zhar battalion kids.
>>139022533
Referring to Vivi, Kurt's headpat bait.
>>139014670
How is a "mecha love triangle" different from the run of the mill variety?
I think I prefer Schwarzesmarken over IBO. I just don't feel anything when I watch IBO. Like, by this point in 00 just for comparison we'd had shit like the Trinity Team showing up, Nena crashing the wedding, some real intrigue between Al and Soma and basically I actually gave a fuck about the characters and what happens with them.
I felt nothing at anyone's deaths in IBO.P.S. Fuck Lise, she deserves worse than death.
>>139025691
00 only really got started when Nena trashed the wedding for no reason. Before that it was practically sleepwalking.
How can they be compared? Because they both have giant robots?
One is typical muv-luv SUFFERING and politics, but extremely rushed and with an abysmal budget.
The other is a fucking Gundam series, part of a huge franchise and being made by one of the richest studios.
>>139025867
They're both about a revolution against a oppressive regime in which the symbol of the revolution is a naive waifu?
>>139025896
SM is more about 'civil war while we get butchedred by aliens'.
The means of the revolution only come up in the last couple of episodes.
>>139007630
I hate Schwarzesmarken, Lise should not die. Stupid brother
>>139009774
Time in machine, time training in scenarios related to using machine and ability and familiarity in maintaining machines > largely unrelated experience and switching to different weapons and different combat.
