As the title obvious implies, this thread is dedicated to those underrated characters that you think should be imitated more in another anime.
Pic obviously related. Seriously why has no one ever done a protagonist along the same vein as Rock? I mean the guy is easily one of the best written protagonists I have ever seen in anime for quite a while.. A manipulative bastard who even when he wins, loses, and as every arc progresses becomes a more cynical and dark individual without becoming too edgy for the most part.
I'd like more protagonists like Kazuma in Konosuba. If he accidentally grabbed a boob he'd just apologise and that'd be it.

Yep we definitely need more of that in anime. If there is an accidental grope or something like that, the characters don't immediately freak out like retards. They just give each other the chance to explain and get over it without any sort of violence.

In terms of him losing more often then he wins... No that certainly hasn't been shown. But him becoming a darker individual... Oh, yeah that's definitely coming through. Everyone's been commenting on it and from the looks of things he was going to consciously try to stop helping the 'lost souls' like he did beforehand. He was only helping Feng because he empathizes with her situation, no other reason.
I like to think Kazuma from KonoSuba is Rance in his early days before he realized he could get away with rape.

But... Rock's entire character is that he never gets his hands dirty. He doesn't engage in combat and instead gets others to do things for him. He kind of fits the quote "The pen is mightier than the sword" if you switch pen with tongue and sword with gun.
Walter, though a manipulative piece of shit, does get his hands dirty. He uses explosives and has killed people directly. That's what lead to his rise in infamy.
Meanwhile, Rock, is a behind the scenes guy who never gets physically involved in conflict in any way shape or form. If situations were reversed, he would actually make a good antagonist. He'd be the guy who manipulates people from behind the scenes and only a few actually know of just how evil he actually is.
