That's wrong. Mika dying was his reason for his revenge, and he's featured more prominently in his nightmares/visions than even the other Hyakuya orphans. He changes drastically for the better after seeing Mika alive to the point where the rest of his squad noticed. He even decides to trust fucking Krul because of Mika.
It's constantly shown that both Mika and Guren are above the rest of the squad to him, although he still obviously cares for them.
People are far too eager to construe any same-sex intimate relationship as inherently romantic or sexual these days. For the longest time when homosexuality was more taboo it is true that writers would rely on subtext to hint at something about a given character that they couldn't explicitly reveal, but now with media, especially anime and manga, being able to openly explore homosexual relationships, people tend to take what was genuinely meant to be a platonic bond and imbue it with their own desires for cannon homosexual relationships against the creator's intentions. This is not to say that there aren't still cases where an author might choose to be subtle about a character's homosexuality, but with homosexuality and a fandom surrounding it now being out in the open people seem to forget the long history of deep platonic same sex bonds that up until very recently would never have been viewed through a sexual prism.
