Kudelia, she is amazing
Atra and only Atra
The gunpla, the grunt designs, the "clang" noise as mechs hit each other, GrazEin, Mika not giving a fuck in combat, Tekkadan's Jackets.
Mika is the protagonist we deserve.
>killing two of my favorite girls in one episode

Most things than 90% of other Gundams let me tell you that.

His plot armor is thicker than Tekkadan jackets are retardedly poofy.
IBO recaptures the true spirit of the 0079 storyline where the good guys are imperfect, and the "bad guys" love and feel and have a human side too, and that sincere, raw struggle of the have-nots that's infinitely relatable. It makes you feel their misery, their poverty, their hunger, their daily struggle of trying to get by one day at a time, and makes you feel sympathy for their dreams and hopes of a better future, it makes you feel sorrow for their lost innocence, and shows you that even while dealing with adversity, love and family mean everything, like during the credits scene when they're all holding bowls and eating together while basically standing on dirt, but that is made absolutely irrelevant, because they're together and happy and smiling.
IBO is the true spiritual child of 0079, and just as unforgettable, which is a milestone rarely achieved by other current anime franchises.

Not really. The only time it's felt like Tekkadan has even remotely struggled was the very first encounter (and even then only until Mika shows up to steamroll everything as per usual) and this very last one. Everything else has been a goddamn walk down easy street for them with no real sense of risk or danger.
The good guys are less flawed and more ignorant blundering around the setting like a drunken, inbred moose in a China shop and the bad guys are either just and honorable knights in shining armor that you end up rooting for or literally Hitler with zero middle ground.
Furthermore, the political intrigue is downright nonsensical and I doubt they'd be able to salvage all this even with a second season.

I like how he dismisses the katana and went for the saw.

I liked the shit about the corn being forced to be used for energy. Most corn in the US is used for ethanol and over 10% is exported. Corn is easy to grow and the only thing those people have are unused land and unskilled labor.
I realized that there are no female space rats in the Tekkadan. I wondered why for a moment before I remembered who wrote the scenario.
Anyway, it's great how Mika has managed not to devolve into a generic savior hero while also not being an unfeeling monster.
The pacing and dishing out of information to the viewer is fucked, though.
>>138912282
It could be more glorious only if he started using some giant claymore
>>138917583
Because girls can be sold for money. No one would want to buy guys, so they are stuck working.
>>138911596
If it makes you any happier they are nor confirmed dead so they could still be alive, but heavily injured.
>>138916745
It was never stated they have children.
Just that they were part of Naze's harem which is not really his harem.
