He has some similar leitmotifs but his music is frankly light years ahead of Sawano and he doesn't just keep recycling themes from as far back as Gigantic Formula and also only does a soundtrack maybe once every 3-5 years or so instead of every other season or so. Actually probably my favorite composer to be honest. I just don't see how

I liked Sawano better when he used more real instruments like in these vids as he did with Unicorn and didn't just rely on shrieking vocalists, bad distorted mixing and the token drop. Like it's hard to believe that guy that people associate with that stupid Aldnoah/Zero meme track or some other loud generic shit from Kill la Kill or whatever could tone it down enough to come out with something like this at any point https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycF7G_Y7KXU . After Kill la Kill is when he started doing constant soundtracks for every action blockbuster show and many of them really fucking bad shows with staff that didn't seem to give much of a fuck so that might have something to do with it. Unicorn and Titans staff kind of gave something resembling a damn so it probably filtered down into him as well plus he wasn't doing nearly as many anime soundtracks at the time.

I'll defend his Kill la Kill soundtrack every day of the week. Say what you want about how SnK soundtrack sounds like Aldnoah/Zero's soundtrack, but at least Kill la Kill had tracks that really stuck with you along with having strong variation between tracks to fit numerous scenes in the show.

Even more reason to be hyped for Kabaneri score. His work in Aldnoah was meh as best except for that one insert song and his scores for kill la kill and nanatsu were terrible.
