Just finished this manga. You can say whatever you want about the stupid break up drama (especially near the end, damn that made me mad) but it pulled through near the end. Much like Suzuka, the ending was so worth it, especially the wedding/afterstory scene (both of which I'm a sucker for). One of my favorite romance manga of all time.

During the time his ex-wife came back and forcefully took back the daughter the MC fell into depression. While he was in this state many of his friends including the bitching room mate who have now slowly fell in love with him tried to cheer him up but couldn't succeed since his daughter was so important to him. She than had the brilliant idea that she herself could replace the whole that the daughter left so MC would no longer be depressed. She went proceed to have sex with the MC in hoping he would fall in love with him, keep in mind the MC still suffering from depression and is basically a lifeless husk so she basically raped him during his weakest moment. After she done the deed hoping MC will recover and fall in love with her he was still a lifeless husk and she finally realize the MC will never choose her over his daughter.
Yada yada plot advance, MC hunt down his asshole of ex-wife and manage to save his daughter, bitching room mate moved out the house before MC manage to comeback, reminder that MC didn't remember anything during his time was fell into depression. Flash forward MC no longer an otaku, daughter graduating from middle school, life seem to finally be good and then all of a sudden it flash to the former room mate who is all grown up now. She now have a child who just happen to have a very strong similarities to the MC strongly hinting that it is his child.
TL;DR : The ending basically find the MC to be in the exact same situation where he was in the beginning.
