Let me clarify.
I think 4's art is godawful. I don't like it at all, and I think people are letting their love of the property blind themselves from an artist who's clearly a step down from the last season. Even the best art he's done of Crazy Diamond was still really questionable and prettied up with those little diamond texture effects because shiny things distract people from artistic issues. You could say the art for 1 and 2 were also dolled up to mask the extreme perspective, but I'd argue that same extreme perspective/anatomy was the sign of an artist who clearly knew what they were doing. It was there to emphasize the crazy proportions, and I appreciate it. The artist for Part 4 is, honestly, not very good at drawing faces, his lines are sketchy, and the weight of said lines is annoyingly inconsistent. He seems to not know how to draw several characters, like Okuyasu or Jotaro, and even when he "fixed" them, they were still nowhere near the quality of the key art for the other seasons.
I like 1-3's art, and think they were very well drawn, but the animation is up for eternal debate. Hell, so's the art for 1-3...
I'm not saying 4's animation will be terrible, but I think the art, in and of itself, is trash. The people praising it are blinded by their love of the franchise and because they're not willing to criticize something that doesn't look that good. I admit, that may be a bit off base now, but back when these designs were leaked, I was seeing this shit.

That great key art from Season 1 where Jonathan and Dio are on opposite sides posing the fuck outta each other was also very good and showed some dimension, albeit was a little more flat looking, honestly. All the art for Part 4 has no dimension to it. The guy hasn't drawn any of the characters in interesting, striking ways or poses, and it reeks of someone who isn't confident in their art, personally.

I don't exactly disagree with you. From what I've seen in the promotional art, I don't like it. More specifically how Jotaro looks. In the manga, I pictured him as this larger than life guy. So I'm new to this series, but stands seem like a kind of silly idea. It seems less interesting to have your characters just hang out while a ghost does all the fighting. Why not just have your characters fight, especially since they get hurt when their stands do anyway.

I don't know, it's hard to tell when you can't read Japanese. It's generally confirmed that the overall part is lukewarmly received, but not loved as much as 3 or 5. I do know they love the characters though, so that's nice.
One of the people I know who's Japanese talked about the voice changes and how they were 'iffy' on them and, as far as I know, didn't really talk about the artstyle that much, though I remember general reaction was mixed to negative on that front. I actually think the voices changes were discussed more than the art, though there was that great fan who did that redrawing of the PV from December by making Josuke look better.
On the other hand, the Pixiv community seemed really hyped, so I don't know. I think hype ruins things anyway, so I'm kinda glad no one (other than SteelBallJack) is creaming themselves over this adaption.

Stands in 3 are weird, but 4 onwards makes them amazing. Keep reading. Or finish watching 3 then read 4. There are plenty of fights where it's not just Stands fighting, there are Stands that go directly for users so motion is important and it keeps the fights entertaining and dynamic. 3 was experimental in some ways since no one had ever really tried writing that kind of power before, and he's getting his bearings with how to use them. After 3 he gets some really creative scenarios going in a lot of fights. And not all Stands are ghosts that punch, there are more varieties in 3 but they're expanded on in later Parts. Have fun.

People like you completely miss the point of Jotaro's character
Yes, he calls his mum a bitch, but he also notices straight away that she isn't there to give him his daily kiss in the morning before he goes to school, leading him to investigate. People who take Jotaro at face value miss the point of his character being the tough guy on the outside, a big softy on the inside. He's the first to notice Iggy and Avodol's absence when they meet up with Polnareff in the mansion, he's the one who keeps a photo of the Crusaders on him at all times. While he comes off as cold and abrasive, he cares deeply for his friends and family. He may even be a bigger mummy's boy than Josuke, he just doesn't show it.

It probably varies between Stands. Dragon's Dream's whole thing was being neutral, so whether Kenzo liked it or not it'll tell the other person what's going on.
I don't see any Stand besides GER as 'sentient', but stuff like Spice Girl giving advice is similar to Paisley Park; it's just a way of simplifying the process of using certain aspects of the Stand, lessening the mental and physical toll of using it. They're essentially talking to their subconscious. It's like how Ringo had trained Mandom to activate when he did the watch thing. It isn't necessary for using it but tics like that can be trained to make use of it easier. Just in Ringo's case, despite not being a bound Stand he couldn't use Mandom without the watch because the tic became so ingrained. Sentient Stands work the same way the way I see it, it's like asking yourself a question but the self you're asking takes into account every little detail and is never in a state of panic or confusion.
Every Stand works differently though so there is no concrete answer.
