They introduced a new character as a central plot point and did NOTHING with her. There was a half-decent love triangle story available and nothing to show for it. You do not imagine fighting a dragon and it gets rid of unrequited love because it is as a poet once said "The only love that lasts." I liked the episodic nature of S2. I liked the extra Nibutani focus. I hated Dekko but even she shined in the election episode. But the failure...The full and complete abject failure to deliver anything that S1 had built up was one of the biggest let downs I've ever poured viewing time into.
I've said it before and here it is again: S2 was a beautifully wrapped wonderfully presented empty box.
