This manga is utter trash, fulfilling every Shonen stereotype there is and lacking a story that goes beyond "we must defeat the evil". The fights are fun to read, yet the power balances extremely linear - either one fighter beats up the other one, or the other way around. The characters are flat and could be described in two sentences. The un-edgyness is the only good aspect of the manga.

Gilthunder being a secret mole from the beginning was a nice touch, and I know from Manga spoilers that some of the Sins can get incredibly creepy.

Powerlevels are actually done right. They never are the deciding factor, just a numerical representation for readers to better understand the characters. Debuffers are the most OP in the series and they usually have low powerlevel, but use their skills well.

Nanatsu is solid but second part is much weaker than the first one.
Nakaba can write amazing and touching stories but it feels like he was either forced to change some things or generally started leading manga in a little wrong direction. Powerlevels, weak Diane's flashback and repetition of mind wipe theme, Elizabeth still being bland and uninteresting, rushed and shitty druid arc that stated already obvious things and tried to be overly dramatic with Mel's training which instead ended up being bland and comedic.
Still love it and trash like boku no hero will never reach NnT but i'd say i will rate Helck higher from current fantasy shounen ongoings.

The story and humor aren't as good as Kongou Banchou, but Nakaba is one of the greatest shonen artists of this run.

The first part actually developed setting and characters really well and gave subtle hints about Mel's past, only making him more mysterious. Its way better this way than being some climatic reveal. Everybody knew it, revealing it climatically would be super hokey. Revealing it through Meliodias and Ban trying to one up each other felt far more natural for Melodias who has been through the reincarnations over and over again.
