I just wanted to know if someone was able to make sense of the FIS because I seriously couldn't. That was some ridiculously convoluted shit for something that could have been explained with "well, this is ANOTHER piece of gungnir, lol"
I felt like it was too sexualized and this is the reason I never moved past season 1. What was even the point of the random scenes with naked Fine torturing one of the girls?

I mostly dislike Ame-no-Habakiri because it is literally named that in its activation chant which is apparently supposed to be some sort of "elder tongue/reality language" thing. For other relics, it is, too, a concern, but some of them are named in Sumerian, and some in Germanic which in turn is based on panvedic/protoindoeuropean languages. And Ame-no-Habakiri's activation chant stands out as a sore thumb.
Yes, I am probably not focusing on the things I was supposed to focus on, but still. Ar Tonelico got those things right. Why couldn't this be less "cheesecake with brawling" and more "AR Tonelico with guns and swords"?

Well, take each of the Gears focus type episodes, Tsubasa's dad etc. They were all wrapped up in an episode (or maybe two? I don't remember) following the same formula and were resolved back to back. Similarly Hibiki's dad pretty much came out of nowhere and got welcomed back into the fold for no reason. The writing and pacing were all over the place and I think the best hope for season four is season 5's existence.

I would say that at least half of GX in general was good, the other half not so much
I don't know why the FIS characters make so little sense to people. Their issues are easy to spot (falsehood, fear/paranoia and a weakness complex/desire to be equal with others respectively), the rationale behind them is easy to understand (people assuming that only Shirabe was Fine is puzzling beyond belief given that Shirabe even credits Kirika and not Fine with saving her life in G), and they're pretty much fully resolved now. The only issues are that Maria's development was very poorly finalized in GX and that DMJii still haven't done anything with anyone else despite the push to have them pair up with Chris (who was much more offensively bad in GX than any of the FIS girls despite being the objective best character in the series).

GX should've been an FIS season, as Kaneko even said that it would be as much. The problem is that he still wasted too much time on the main trio, which is now fully comprised of dead end characters (Tsubasa hasn't done anything useful in 2 seasons, Chris is just looking for issues when none of the others are interested in it and she can't even maintain any sort of consistency in her interactions with others) or ones that make for poor viewing (this has been the second season in a row where Hibiki's flawed/deranged ideals and her insanity were fully protected by Kaneko, preventing her from ever growing up - which makes sense given her childish fanbase).

They exist to sell cds. The writers had a chance to less their combat role with the issue of running out of LINKER but it was just another arbitrary rule they ignored. You notice the only time they are decent characters are when they have limited time to rescue Chris in episode 2 and Maria's presence on the bridge. The biggest offenders are DMJii though as not only are their individual characters shallow but they cannot exist without one another which makes tons of problems for a writer.

S2 was trash and Maria's team ruined it, plus the delayed subs on the shitty ending. Only decent part was the arm loss/berserk mode and Sugita Scientist villain.
S3 was just riding off meme hype, it was never good either, but slightly better than S2. Only really because it stopped taking itself seriously, becoming more over the top, and one of the villains was good.
