Why is it so hard to write satisfying endings for harems?
Because not every MC have a made-up mind like Keitarou. He's always desired Naru's narus and the guy succeded in obtaining them
Because School Days set the bar so high.

>still likes Love Hina
Because the author chooses the wrong girl 90 percent of the time.
>>138640084
It's got an actual ending at the very least and it was my first anime
>>138639805
its not, but they dont wanna piss off the waifufags so they never make it clear
>>138639805
Because they're drawn out so long, and the fans get so rabid about "their waifu", that the author can never meet expectations. Plus, the characters end up mostly soulless caricatures with no depth our development, so there's no ending because there's never a beginning.
Having your favorite girl win is great and everything, but the best thing about harems is seeing other girls get crushed. I mean, look at Oreimo. Kuroneko crying after being rejected was literally the best thing about it.
I hate it when they pussyfoot and go with a harem ending or an open ending or give each girl her own ending. Fuck that. Make one girl win, and all the other girls suffer. That's what we're here to see. It's like how no one watches racing for the actual race, they watch it because there's a chance one of the racers might crash and burn to death.

Harems should always end in harem endings. Hell, harems should begin with harem endings and have the story progress from there, instead of leading up to there.
It's because the premise of a harem show is shallow in general. When the MC's main drive is to collect all the grills there isn't much after he does that.
Because writers use harem as a means rather than an end in itself. It's bound to be a bumpy ride when you introduce this fanciful device you'll soon need to rid of anyway because you suggest your priority was always some romance.
>>138639805
Because the shitty generic redhead tsundere childhood friend always fucking wins
>>138640488
r u ok
>>138640756
>childhood friend
>ever wins
Funny
>>138640651
>MC's main drive is to collect all the grills
How many MCs actually seek creating a harem rather than be bumbling idiots who somehow wind up having tons of girls like them? Having a harem is unfortunate for those guys, while a MC whose goal is to catch girls like Pokemon makes for a potentially more entertaining experience (like any character who actually has a drive).
>>138641249
yeah, the only mcs that do that, are issei and mc from tittymon and neither is a great mc
better than most, but still just ok
>>138639805
Because if you chose one girl over another, half of your fanbase will hate you, and you want your shit to continue selling even after you finish it.
So most authors chose to make some bullshit ending where nobody wins or loses, so that no part of the fanbase feels betrayed.
>>138640116
This. The main girl is never the best girl so the ending is guaranteed shit by default.
>>138639805
Because the only way to keep everyone happy is to have a harem ending, and that's not ok to a lot of people, even less so than incest or marrying sensei.
>>138641325
Keima was kind of like that, though he wasn't seeking a harem and he wasn't fond of it when one actually did develop around him. I just liked watching him do his magic. We're not always going to get a Tenchi who can just marry everyone so do something fun.
>>138640488
ppl like u r why anime is degen
>>138640162
James, is that you?
>>138639805
Because they never go for harem ending
>>138639805
Because you're going to disappoint people unless you go full harem or omnibus.
>>138639805
Harems cannot have a satisfying end by definition.
>actual harem end
>why does best girl have to share?
>one girl wins
>why can't all the other girls be happy?
The only way to do it is to clone the MC so they can all win without sharing.
>>138643196
what is so wrong with sharing?
Fujimura-kun mates did it right
>>138643280
Sharing is communism.
>>138639805
Because you can't please everyone. Someone is always going to be dissatisfied because their favorite girl didn't win. That's what you get when you try to pander to everyone at the same time.
>>138643389
Harem is patriarchal. The MC is the center of all power. Girls share or they get none of that sweet loving.
>>138643389
Communism doesn't sound like such a bad deal when you're on the losing side of capitalism.
>>138644160
Which is increasing all the time. Capitalism and "democrazy" (the two-party bullshit in the states is anything but) isn't working. Their debt is immense and soon the country will collapse under its own weight.
Harem anime is inherently flawed. Its very nature means that for every winner, there are several losers.
