I hate it when something open with "so X years ago this, that and those happened, and here we are with a post-apocalypse world". That leaves absolutely NOTHING to explore later into the story, and the author will start writing out of his ass real fast.
With this kind of introdution that leave many things to be answered, you will get some small pieces of the world as they are unfolded throughout the entire series, and once you piece them together you get a vague picture of what happened to the world. That's the kind of storytelling I like.

They seem to make her do something pretty different recently with her though, last episode she was pretty brave throwing that bear, compare that with how she acts in the fifth and early sixth episode. Gave her a fucking gun in the tenth too. They seem to make her ability rather vague. I think Koito too is the only one that equally changed recently.
