I read the whole thing when I was 20. Average shonen. Better than Bleach, Naruto, And Fairy Tail. Not very memorable though. Koga sucked.

I stopped watching about the middle of the original run, then picked up The Final Act, and didn't feel like I missed anything except Inuyasha learning a new attack
It would have been a really decent series if they had waited for the manga to end and then make a 50 episodes anime, it wouldn't have skipped anything. A damn shame. But some of the SoL is enjoyable and it also has the Takahashi charm, so I woulnd't really put it on the level of Naruto and the likes. Kikyo is best girl. Rin for special mention. Manga Kagome is better than anime Kagome.
