No, because Homura, Mami, and Madoka are really the only one's who can fight it due to the whole flyinh thing. Mami was more or lress killed outright the first time. It's familiars would have been way too strong for Sayaka, assuming she lived through the NTR, and Kyoko would have been functionally useless.

a goal to survive is just that, a goal. once you bootstraped that into your conscious value-system as a society/hivemind you may not need to retain it as emotion. You simply treat it as axiom of your reasoning.
Think of humans programming a dangerous industrial robot to stop its operations once it detects its actions might endanger nearby humans. The robot does not have emotions, yet it executes the goal of not harming humans perfectly fine.
Similarly proto-incubators may have had a basal instinct ensuring their own survival, but they could have gotten rid of it as their species developed and replaced it with some sort of law which they consider in their reasoning.
That's even assuming incubators developed naturally and weren't created by some other, possibly long-extinct, species in the first place.
