It's really hard in this era, with this community, to talk about old shows, because we put so much substantial discussion into threads during the airing of a show, and it's very easy to obtain them while they're on air.
It's a little sad. I feel we might need a slower /a/ board that isn't dedicated to currently airing shows sooner or later.

I won't lie to you, the show made me cry.
It also made me realize that even if I cry, that doesn't mean I am enjoying the show. It merely means I am empathizing with a human condition which is undeniably sad because it is built to be that way.
Just like how you can't help cheering for the good guy in the pathetic run-of-the-mill shonen, or in any case, sympathize with the good guys.
I think the scene in which they're crying near the temple is much more cringeworthy.
The again Menma is an evil mastermind, who deserves a lot more appreciation.
