The heroes in that flashback were in the Demon World, so it was self-defense. And I doubt that the demons attacked first, because they are full with the north enemies and they didn´t seem to have attacked the other sides of their country. The empire where the dragon resides seems to be all the poisoned territory and that´s it, makes me wonder why the humans invaded if they already had the best places to live.
Also Mikaros is not doing this for revenge, but because it´s the will of the world.

Seemed apparent to me that Mikaros isn't the one actually pulling the strings.
For now we have seen 'Archangel' level with Rafaed and Mikaros which seem on the level of the four heavenly kings. There are two more Archangels (I assume the king is one) and after that there is likely a Metatron and God character to match the Guardian Kings and Emperor.
I assume this since this, since it would fit into the typical pattern of the stories the author likes to reference and it would keep the eastern heavenly hierarchy VS western heavenly hierarchy it seems to have going.

Berserk has some really good writing and symbolic conflict between two former comrades/brothers. Helck delves into the ironic tragedy that builds upon itself of a man who is forced to accomplish in defeating an evil that plans to have humanity into nothing more than mindless killing machines. Both are very good in their own right but Berserk wins it by a margin in the art unfortunately but the art style in Helck has its own aesthetic as to how it handles its backgrounds and depth of action.

One Piece is like a Saturday Morning cartoon, where every arc is basically self contained with the status quo rarely changing. I think that there is no error, because that second time Helck didn´t take out the sword of the scabbard, but took out the bands that hided the broken part and were used as a grip.
