Definitely worth a watch in my books; I think it's got plenty to offer outside of the visual aspect, which, while bland, certainly isn't bad. Alternatively recommending Animation Runner Kuromi-chan, which is a bite-sized, more manic Shirobako which DOES look very good. Wouldn't say it's better or anything, just similar. They go for different things.
