I enjoyed it. Sodachi was an interesting character and I thought it revealed a lot about why Araragi is the way he is and how he came to become the person that he is. It was a bit refreshing to have a more character/mystery focused arc too, it reminded me a bit of Bake, except it wasn't as well directed. The resolution and how she took it probably could've been executed a bit better though.

One you originally responded to, I just want to see him apply his directing style and animation to something with a different theme/story. yeah, I pretty much just finished it. The lack of a sequel in any form is a bit of a buzzkill.
Good show overall, I thought, but the midway sudden harem was kind of bullshit. I could have happily accepted the Hatoko vs Tomoyo situation, them both loving MC made a lot of sense, but the others felt a bit absurd as anything other than friends or crushes.
Also thought episode 7-8s tonal flip was a missed opportunity when they just went back to being a light hearted comedy again, killing any momentum only to suddenly try being serious again in the last episode.

Outside of them being pretentious and replacing 5 minute hypothesis with the name of the guy associated with it and a small pun exchange between Kanbaru and Araragi (which to be fair puns like it are usually either rewrite it in a way that fits or put TL notes/parenthesis, and puns aren't really funny if they have to be explained to you), their Owari subs were good. The typesetting in particular was really nice compared to how unreadable it was with HS.
Commie usually does a pretty job on Monogatari. Much better than Aniplex at least.
