dyed, and it's supposed to be light brown.

it was dark brown (like shit, also like manami's, who is a shit)

not enough kuroneko
>>
People dislike worst girl a lot, other than that I don't think the premise of your post is accurate.
>>
I liked it, but recognize that was probably not good.
>>
>>138439008
Kirino is shit yet she wins.
>>
>Why everybody hates this shit show?
I wonder.
>>
I wonder if it's because of the incest
>>
The shitty drama and Kirino can be a huge cunt.
>>
Not enough sister butt on brother face action
>>
Poor execution of the ending. To this day, people still don't get that the author meant for them to stay together after the story ended. Taken on it's own, it looks like they dated for 2 weeks then broke up, admittedly a bit anticlimactic.. Look at the ln and his interviews though, and it's clear that they stay together. Now, you can say it's a cop out in that he didn't go through and have it animated/written that way, but that's the way the regulations were, at least according to him.

Even putting aside all the romance, you could look at it as a story of the 2 siblings coming to terms with a damaged relationship and fixing it in their own way.

Plus a minority of people who for some reason hate best girl.
>>
Oreimo absolutely was the anime that destroyed the internet.
>>
I can't speak for /a/ and I'm a secondary, but from what I remember, the whole series was Kirino getting rewarded for being a shit and being a generally shitty imouto.

i.e:
>Kirino: yadda yadda shitpost shitpost
>Brother MC: Kirino you shit! Let's go to the beach with friends!
>Kirino: Waah! -fang mouth-
>Best day ever for shitty imouto ensues.

Proceed to next episode
>Kirino: shitpost shitpost fang mouth, butt wiggle, no development
>Brother: I love her!

The show was okay, but Kirino was an intolerable little shit and I really don't want to rewatch it to throw some legitimate examples of her shitty attitude. In her defense, she's made for one of the best faps in my life.
>>
>>138439506
Agreed. Other than Endless Eight, I cannot think of another anime that brought upon a shitstorm of that magnitude.
>>
Yosuga no Sora was the better incest of that year.
>>
1) people were surprised and disappointed when there was incest end to a show called 'my little sister can't be this cute'
2) incest fans were disappointed at execution of ending

Nothing ambiguous about it, watch the last BD extra that was writted by the same Fushimi. They stay in a relationship, now with the approval of everyone that matter in their lives, except for Yoshino.

Because it started out as a lighthearted slice-of-life with some comedy and turned into an overly dramatic harem. Quite frankly, I don't think it did particularly well on either front.
I don't think it's necessarily shit, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

At what episode of the second season did Ruri become a romantic interest?
>>

>Game of Thrones
This show dragged on for way too long. I liked it at first but now it's like a never ending soap opera.
>>
>>138441170
that wasn't harem

iirc only s2e10 started to mirror harem by introducing unlikely love interests (ayase, loli, even saori is mentioned)
>>
>>138441350
I wasn't aware harem was defined by the love interests being unlikely.
>>
>>138439008
>>>/pol/
>>
>>138441609
The harem genre is more or less defined by sudden, inexplicable and universal female attraction to the MC, the vast majority of which will involve plot and character contrivances which often make the adoration feel unconditional and often unwarranted. Harem is a wish fulfillment genre for - usually - heterosexual men.

This is contrasted to simple romance plotlines, which often involve love triangles and the like. These often feature developed characters with developed and understandable romantic motivations.

Did you even read the series? Or even watched the anime?
>>
>>138441877
Sorry, I don't believe you. You claim that the harem genre is not defined merely by the presence of a single male surrounded by multiple potential love interests, but that these love interests themselves have to be unlikely. However, I've not seen this as the deciding factor in any harem anime or manga that classifies it as a harem.
>>
>>138439455
LNs/manga had them together, too. After graduation, Kyousuke used his one time wish to break his promise of being a couple until graduation, and they got back together.
>>
>>138442063

I can't force you to believe me, but I can independently decide that you're dumb.
>>
>>138442190
And I can independently decide that your definition of what a harem is is one that you came up with on your own, because I have seen nothing to suggest otherwise.
>>
>>138442245

Can you describe an alternate authoritative mechanism for coming up with anime genre definitions?

Obviously, I came up with the definition on my own through my own experiences. There's no other possible mechanism for any other kind of opinion to exist. There are no anime scientific journals. There are no anime researchers. There is no anime studies department at Harvard.

Fucking idiot.
>>
>>138439008
Because it's a story called My Little Sister Can't be This Cute that pulled the double bait and switch by having a name like that and yet seemingly isn't a story about incest only to turn into a story about incest further down the line.

Basically a lot of people are butthurt because it made them feel stupid.
>>
>>138442320

Would a normalfag who cares about the social taboo of incest really read a manga/watch an anime about little sister fucking?
>>
It doesn't matter on how many girls likes the MC, an harem is an harem because it's an harem, being a shipfag is a different thing. Would you classify Ore Monogatari as an harem? No. Would you classify Shigatsu as an harem? No. Would you classify Dragon Ball as an harem?? No.
Oreimo was always about Kyouske and Kirino "Life Counseling" , everything that happened around them just aid the main plot.
>>
>>138442349
It seems you missed the point entirely. It has nothing to do with being social taboo. People are just upset because they jumped to the conclusion it wasn't about incest only to find out it actually was and it makes them feel dumb. More so because they jumped the incest train too early and became invested in other characters.
>>
>>138442458
>>138442458
>they jumped to the conclusion it wasn't about incest

I can't actually believe humans thought this series wasn't about incest.

Seeing is believing, my friend.

Were you not around when it happened? The board was going nuts. They still haven't gotten over it.

The problem is you've decided that your definition of harem is the authoritative definition of harem, and series that do not fit the constraints of that are not harem, even though they are generally accepted by everyone else that they are.

It'd be like if I said that action movies are only action movies if they have sex scenes, or scenes where characters tumble around while trying to get naked then cut to two people in bed after sex. Are these scenes common in action movies? Sure. Do they define the genre? No. And for me to say that any action movie that does not have such scenes is not an action movie would make me a fucking idiot. There clearly can be action movies without sex, just as there can be harem series in which the love interests are not necessarily unlikely.
>>
>>138442601

I take several month long breaks from 4chan occasionally (but I'm not new, if that's what you're implying).

That being said,

>normalfags
>4chan

Sounds like you got epically trolled.
>>
>>138442640

A harem anime will always be unlikely because the proximity it necessitates, the lack of any sort of monogamy contract, real male competition and the like is by definition unlikely.

Harem is a wish fulfillment genre. It necessitates attractive women finding an unlikely protagonist attractive. The unlikely protagonist is the projection for the viewers/readers. As such, the protagonist and the scenario must not validate the likelihood of attraction. If the protagonist was super rich and lived in Saudi Arabia with a bunch of slaves, it wouldn't be a harem anime.

>>
>>138442667
Hmmmm? We don't say normalfag on /a/ any more? That's what we used to say before I stopped frequenting /a/ and normies replaced it on all most other boards.

Do we now call Tomoko spaghetti-chan too?
>>
>>138439513

I just saw it as sort of a take on anime where being shitty but looking nice is regularly rewarded and everything and everyone else just kind of falls by the wayside.
>>
>>138439008
Literally, the butthurt was so great that in 2020 people will still be salty.
>>
>>138439867

This. That's really all it comes down to, never mind that the premise and sub plots were garbage in the first place. I don't want to say that OreImo is definitive of what Light Novel stories are usually like, but it sure is a great example of why they can be so shit.
>>
>>138442802
Would you say, then, that reverse-harems aren't harems?
>>
>>138442962

Reverse harems are reverse harems.

Female sexuality is different so the mechanisms are different.
>>
>>138440348

Oh you know maybe some people just genuinely didn't like it. I mean there's plenty of obvious reasons right off of the first few episodes alone why it would turn people off and they only grow from there. You basically have to be a card carrying full throttle otaku as a basic entry level requirement to even be able to get anything out of and event then it managed to polarize a lot of people. Light Novels are good at that sort of thing though cause you know shipping and such.
>>
>>138439008
Anime is ok, LN is actually very enjoyable if you like cute wincest. Manami is shit. Kirino is best. Kuroneko is very close to best. Everyone else is ok. Lots of otaku humor, whatever that is. There is a tan loli. That's about all you need to know.

Light Novel romance is a pretty glorious set of writing.

The fact it makes people butthurt makes it above most forms of written romance. The best kind of love story is the one that starts controversy,
>>
>>138443103
Kirino isn't even a terrible person. She's no worse than Kuroneko at least, and by the end she expresses more care for Kyousuke than any of the others.
