Overrated series with presumably well written realistic characters and realistic situations, while in fact it's just as shallow as the other love tiangle/harem shows around.
TL:DR People pretend it's somehow better than every other romcom, but it's in fact the same shit.

I didn't think it was good. The writing is really bad, the characters aren't enjoyable and the drama is cheap.

I get that whichever girl he ends up (if at all) doesn't matter too much as far as Hachiman growing as person is concerned. It is something that's tied to Hachiman's arc at the hip though, and I just find that the more the series focuses on it the less I enjoyed the series in general.

Yukino's motivations have very little to do with romance with 8man or her boner for him, same for Yui. Yukino started the club for herself and that is the end game, not satisfying 8man. Yui did not enter the club for 8man's dick.

Not really, 8man is mostly developed at this point and is unlikely to be very different by the end of this story. Romance is an unimportant aspect to 8man and finding something genuine is the most important thing for him.

8man's interaction with people and how he develops is huge, of course the two people he spends the most time around in story will have an impact and be the focal point. I understand why it wasn't enjoyable, mostly because Yui and Yukino are irritable bitches that get either sad or angry at the drop of a hat. Yui and Yukino are just a vehicle but not the point. I don't think romance will have anything to do with the end of the series.

The core problem of the second season wasn't romance or the love triangle bullshit or whatever, it was that the drama went way overboard and the interaction between the characters felt unrealistic and melodramatic.

I self-insert as 8man. However, that doesn't mean he lacks a personality. He has plenty of personality, much more than nearly all harem protags. That's why it's good. It's more ambitious than a vehicle to showcase waifus. I don't really care if it's unrealistic.
