Maybe if funi never funds the animation budget. Licensing, sure go ahead. I'm still going to download HS. But the budget lapses and organizing pitfalls of certain scenes made me almost drop this show. I only stuck around because the story isn't your typical sao clone.

It's not relevant. The story isn't about that.

Sure they could say more about the towns, but what areas? They're always either on a random forest or Dammrow.
I don't see why they would say the number of dungeons when only one dungeon has been mentioned and for the characters it's just one underground mine.

The problem is that it's a LN adaptation. It's not supposed to end in 12 episodes, and there's no point in revealing the biggest mistery in the series in the first Volume.
As for the second part, all the world building that is missing it's there on the LN, I guess they didn't want to make the anime a huge infodump.
Lack of internal monologues and world builing is why most LN adaptations are shit when the source material is at least ok (see: SAO)

This. I don't need fucking tavern/inn scenes that take over 5+ mins a episode that are shitty disguised infodumps. I felt like a good 15% of SAO was literally just them explaining how their world works. Especially since they have been in what 3+ different worlds now?
Grimgar's certainly not a great anime, but it's been decent, comfy, and has enough stupid shit that I can enjoy livewatching/discussing it.

Nope, books and anime work differently.
If you don't have worldbuilding in a book, it's a big deal.
If you have almost no worldbuilding but outstanding backgrounds in an anime, everything is fine.

Why shorten the evennt of ep 1-4 in 2 points, but take 6 points to talk about ep 4-8?

It must be cool to be young enough to think that pointless talk scenes where characters keep spitting the same empty pseudo-deep sentences for 3 minutes then repeat them in a slightly different way for 3 more minutes (muh Manato, muh suffering, muh gomen nasai, muh mendokusai), mixed with useless still frames and blanks and characters watching each others is actually characters development, lore and world building/exposition, when it's in fact a botched direction with terrible pace and rythm.

It's touched on a little in the anime, more so in the light novel, but basically whenever they try to think of "life before " their thoughts become hard to hold on to, and they eventually forget what they were thinking about and focus on other things.
My theory is that they are in a game where immersion is the intended feature. No one is actually dead, etc. However, font expect any answers until far in.
