Shirobako got really tired and repetitive at times, an example being when an older employee would finally clarify and talk at length about something bothering one of the mains or whatever, and was only ever occasionally funny despite the constant attempts to be so. Tarou was an annoying character. It was hard to get into the drama of some characters like Daisuke because you instantly know where it's going and his interactions with other characters are dull as he flip flops to someone less antagonistic and starts to get over his hang ups.
Most characters are too flaccid, which is why I didn't like the girls outside Aoi and Zuka. I can't even remember their names. Aoi is the protagonist we see varying sides of her and get some insight into how she's thinking all the time. At times, the inner conflict she faces fall flat like when she's wondering what she really wants to do as she clearly works her dream job, but I liked her. Zuka was constantly getting the short end of the stick and grew as a character because of it as she learns to deal with rejection.
You can say it was too straightforward to be interesting all of the time. It was a decent show and I liked it, though.
