Good production values from a good studio working with good source material. It's definitely pretty good. I dunno about the best thing ever, but yeah. Brotherhood is definitely better than 2003 overall, but I think the director for the 2003 series did a better job in a lot of ways. More powerful scenes to me. He just didn't have a finished product to work with and flubbed the ending.

Homunculi are also brought over from the gate after someone performs human transmutation and looks exactly like that person. There is no theme to them having names based off the seven sins and none of them really have their traits except for Greed and Wrath. Wrath is changed to Pride for no reason. Instead of having philosopher-stone based healing factor they are actually immortal and only vulnerable when faced with the remains of the one who was transmuted. Envy has no remains and is thus completely immortal and also Hohenheim's first son. All the homunculi want to be human even though the only difference is not being able to do alchemy for no reason and you don't get cool super powers. Lust completely avoided answering when asked why.
