ITT: Anime with little to negligible Japanese influences and characters
I'll start with the obvious
Even though two main characters are Asians, they're still not Japanese (MC is a chink and token tits girl is Singaporean)
Also, feels pretty fucking good to hear a pun that is not based on shitty Japanese wordings once in a while

You do realize that anime is fucking MADE in Japan, right?

You might have a point with stuff that is outsourced to Korea, but the main studio (and oversight) is still located in Japan.

OP's talking about story wise.
>>
>>138019373
So, any adaption of a book that wasn't written in Japan, preferably targeted at a western audience?
Stuff like Heidi?

Most of the other anime in the same vein too.

Black Butler

disregard this

Have you read 7?
That's like the most "American" manga there is.

If you mean stories that do not take place in Japan, or that are no there to portray Japanese lifestyle, there are actually several.
Baccano, Black Lagoon, Golgo, JoJo Parts 1-3, nearly every Gundam story, Dragonball (it doesn't take place in our world, and the story it is somewhat based on is Chinese), Noir, Gunsmith Cats, the Slayers, Hunter x Hunter, Dantalian no Shoka, Berserk.

Then you also have stories that take place in Japan, but in which Japanese lifestyle and culture are irrelevant, as in Darker than Black or Code Geass.

OP sounds like a fag, so I recommend California Crisis.

>I'm just tired of all this nippon banzai bullshit being shoehorned in the last ten anime I watched
This is like watching American movies or TV series, and not expecting Americans (mainly whites), American culture, or no America Fuck Yeah rubbish.

I mean, I love anime that don't take place in Japan and which show other type of places and cultures, but not expecting Japan and Japanese people in anime is silly.

Spice and Wolf

It felt like a western fairytale, but animated.

>Burgers don't make movies on other countries from time to time
They do, which is why I didn't mention the US in my post, since there are plenty of American movies that take place elsewhere, just as there's plenty of anime that don't take place in Japan.

That being said, I find it far more common for them to be an anime with a non-Japanese MC than for an American series or movie with a non-American MC.

It might seem like every anime ever made is set in Japanese high-school (or has Japanese high-school grafted on to some fantasy or sci-fi setting), they actually aren't. Apart from all the adaptations of classics like Heidi or Anne of Green Gables, there are a lot of European (or European style) settings, and even some cod-Korea or China.

Then why are you here?

Baccus (the one who drowned people) drowned Baccus (the doctor) in alcohol.

I'm not even a native english speaker and I still got this.

What are you talking about? Your average American movie or TV series is garbage.

I didn't watch Bebop at all, if that's what you're hinting at.

>Japs can't into fucking comedy and it's a known fact
I disagree with that "fact".
>>
>>138021302
>But Americans at least know how to do comedy right
How? American "comedy" is the lowest of the low.
It's pretty much "take anything vulgar and expect people to laugh".
American comedy literally is comedy for plebeians.
And let us not begin with American stand-ups. They used to be good some 20 years, ago, but now it's all the same shit, especially the race-based jokes.

Japanese comedy is their own shit. Be it that you consider it funny or not, it's their own form which they do enjoy.
>>
>>138021530
S-sorry about that.

In my country we learned strictly greek mythology, so had "Dionysus" been used, I'd get the joke.

No such thing exists. Japs may be shit at comedy but you lot aren't any better.

First squad: MC has katana and nazi spy sluts use some possibly japanese martial arts when trying to kill russian Gandalf but that's about it.
Redline: Miki+Todoroki team.
Hellsing.
Claymore
Broken Blade: Rygart uses katana with his mech as last resort, maybe some martial arts.
Hare and Guu.
Slayers.
Ruin explorers.
Photon.
Outlaw star: Suzuka.
Record of Lodos war.
There's probably much more sci-fi and fantasy stuff that doesn't happen in Japan but this is from the top of my head.
>>
>>138023125
It has however, no whatsoever relevance to the plot

Damn, this thread is red.
Why didn't the mod just delete it if he (rightfully) banned OP?
