If we're going by alignments Spike is pretty much the best example of the chaotic neutral archetype, he does what he feels like doing all the time without putting much thought into it. "Whatever happens, happens" was a good way to put it, he goes with the flow and does what he wants
And since he's a pretty chill guy in terms of personality, he doesn't do many evil things.
That's how I interpret his character at least

A Cowboy Bebop movie was made, however, Spike does not die here. This is because the movie takes place a few episodes before the final episode. If it took place after the final episode, it wouldn't make much sense, because then Spike would have been dead.
