What are your thoughts on the new series?
Im an old fag so I used to watch it every night on adult swim when i was a kid
I recently saw a few episodes of the new series and I worry the producers are afraid to make any of the raunchy humor that made the show so enjoyable

yes, the episodes range from amazing to boring - over all it's a well done modern version of Lupin and I love the art style they use - will probably buy the DvDs
I hadn't seen much of the older Lupins but I've been enjoying blue jacket Lupin.
The overarching plot episodes less so than the rest of the show but still I look forward to it every week

I know senpai, It's because Lupin,Fujiko and Zenigata barely had any part in it and it was primarily about some old faggot and his car. What was the point? Usually episodic ones tend to be good.

It was on Adult Swim nearly thirteen years ago. Although, it really feels a lot shorter than that.
That said, I think oldfag as far as American fans should only be applied to the folks that were around for the scant amount of VHS releases in the 80s and 90s.

Some parts are kind of cool, but a few episodes are frankly awful or boring, like when the gang had to return a dog. Moemon was the only reason I watched that episode all the way through.
Visuals and character designs are pretty good.

The music in general just makes everything better.
That said, it's just sad that I liked everything other than the main plot of the episode.

I never watched Lupin the III but about 12 years ago i it watched it on german MTV late at night. Don't know if it was a normal episode, a movie or an OVA but i remember some scenes:
>there were fighting with alot of soldiers in green uniforms. they killed many and there was a car/motorbike chase scene.
>the guy with the black jacket and hat (i think he is called Jingen) was trapped in a house and someone threw a grenade in there but he survived because he hid under a trap door.
>the gang tried to rescue a girl. the girl has watched the scene earlier and though jingen was dead (im not so sure about this part)
>at the end, they all board a space shuttle and fly to off to space with a shitton of money while credits roll in the background. The music in the background was electronic over which the word "Lupin" was repeated many times.

Guys who' watching the NEW dub of Part IV? It's the same guys who dubbed Part II 13 years ago. I'm fucking stoked. Tony fucking Oliver who was the best dubbed version of Lupin is returning along with Richard Epcar as Jigen and Michelle Ruff as Fujiko. This is fucking historic. The return of the best cast but now It's gonna be faithful to the Japanese script. God damn I'm so excited to see Tony's voice come out of the New Lupin's lips. I know they're recording now but anyone know of a possible release date yet? I will preorder the Blu Ray so damn quick

Italianfag here, and like many other italianfags, i watched Lupin in his every incarnation in all the the phases of my life, geez, even when i was a teeneger i still liked it.
But i have to say that new series gived me moments of boredom i never had for others Lupin's series or movies. You can see this series is made by Lupin's fans unlike a lot of other relunch, you can see how Blupin act like the "older" Lupin would act, same goes for the gang, even if i would have liked to see more from Jigen and Goemon instead of Fujiko.
Some episodes are really great, like the one with the old car (a very Red Jacket's plot) one of my favorite.
So what is the problem? Probably the new friends and enemies, Rebecca was unbearable, she should have stayed as a one-shot Lupin girl, instead of a recurring character.
James Bond was a cool concept, but wasted. And the final episodes anti-climatic.
But i wont say this is a bad series, it just have some low moments, but in general this new Lupin is enjoyable.I think we can all agree that the 4th series Zenigata is the bast Zenigata we had in years. Best character.
