I watched the live action movie and it wasn't too awful so I just hope the anime won't change as many things as the movie.
And that they get a proper VA for MC since the actress's voice in the movie was distracting. Too obvious that she was trying to do a high pitched girly voice that wasn't natural sounding at all.

I personally didn't like it as much after it came back after hiatus, and I got tired of Kakeru's gloominess, even though I could understand why he felt the way he did. The chapter trying to explain the time travel aspect was done poorly too. I say this as a fan who loved everything before the hiatus. I really liked the art too, and I don't like the what I see from the adaptations materials. The designs are a bit yaoi-ish for the male's faces, and I'd prefer a style that resembled Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun instead.And Suwa best boy.

No, it isn't. If you read even one shoujo manga nothing will come as a surprise. The time travel element allows the story be told in only five volumes instead of the usual >10 volumes. That's about the only 'unique' thing it has going for.

Live action adaptions of anime and manga usually have bad actors and aren't really worth watching. I tried to watch Nodame Cantabile live action, and it just doesn't translate well. The only live action adaptation I can think of that is good is Umimachi Diary, and that's probably because it's directed by Koreeda, so it feels more like like a legit film rather than some tacky anime to live action adaptation.
