You say that any fan-work that changes the personality of the character or the way they interact from the canon source is degrading them and making their feelings seem worthless. Generalizing this it doesn't have to be crack that degrades them, it could be doujins of them being sex-crazed maniacs or of Madoka being a femdom, or practically anything that presents a deviations from how the characters behave in series. So that would then make OOC degrading. You translate doujins of Madoka Magica, a lot of which are pornographic of the characters showing them behaving explicitly sexual. Do you think middle-schoolers behave this way? Because I sure don't, that technically makes it OOC. By translating these doujins of the characters you are implying support for this OOC doujin since you are applying effort for it. And since you said crack is degrading the characters because it alters their canon behavior and makes their feelings seem worthless, that would then make any OOC fanwork, like the doujins you translated, degrading the characters. You are therefore degrading the characters yourself.
I don't mean to insult you though, practically every large fandom in some way shape or form altered canon settings or characters to explore new ideas, like crossovers to drawing characters dressing in the outfits of other characters. OOC is not such a terrible thing like you've made it out to be, as I have explained here. I hope you agree with the point I put out here, and if you don't please explain in an uninsulting way why it's flawed.
