Do you watch anime on a big TV or your monitor?
I've always watched it on my 23" monitor because it seemed to me like anime isn't the type of media to really benefit from a huge screen and super accurate colors. Seems to me like that's better for live action stuff where the level of detail is much higher.
What does /a/ prefer?
I hate watching anime in the living room because the room is so big and the screen is too big. I used to watch them on a computer monitor, but then hooked my desktop to a 50" TV and I think it's pretty good.
My phone because I feel embarrassed watching it
>>137365860
becouse my 50'' tv is shit, looks good with normal cable but when you plug a pc it's just a mess of pixels.>>137366389
Either my 15 inch laptop screen or my 5.7 inch moto x.
>>137365860
I find it easy to watch busy stuff with lots of things on the screen on a bigger TV.
>>137365860
Unfortunately I don't have a TV and not enough money to buy one.
So I'm just watching on my 1366x768 monitor.
I have a htpc hooked up to a 32" that I watch everything on. I've experimented some with steam streaming too, but haven't really decided if I like it or not yet, might help if I got a wireless controller.
>>137366459
You're not alone, but not for that reason. I watch anime through Kissanime on my phone because my computer is shit and runs anime like shit.
I got a 42" i watch my shit on.
I recently switched from a shitty 14 in laptop screen to using a 1080p ips monitor and the difference is night and day.

Connect my laptop to my tv using hdmi and enjoy a comfy session being a couch potato, or i stream on my phone in between classes and going to work

poorfag detected
TV of course.
I've got a 60" Samsung plasma that is pretty much only used for watching anime.
I feel like a poorfag watching my Chinese cartoons on a 55" compared to some of you fuckers.

>sympathizing with baitposting
youre some special kind of dumb.
Anyone here use a projector? how is the experience?
Connect my old laptop to an old 720p ~21 inch monitor on my desk. Really need a new setup, I'm amazed this laptop still works as well as it does.
Watching anime in bed on my Note 4 is god tier though, dat resolution, those vibrant colors, dat comfiness.
>>137380168
Unless you've got a gigantic room with blackout curtains to dedicate it to, a projector isn't worth it. The picture quality will never be as good as it is on a good TV.
Old ass 50' TVif I don't feel like watching on my phone
>>137369401
you will also notice nite-day difference if you switch from LCD to plasma display.
>>137380585
Yep. It's a shame nobody makes them anymore so if you don't have one by now you're fucked. PN60F5300 is up to $2,000 if you can find it new.
>>137379929
>not OLED
OLED is still shit compared to this entry-level plasma (Pic-related: Panasonic Viera ST60) when it comes to color accuracy, screen uniformity, motion resolution and reproducing near-black gradiations.
I watch it on an IBM G-78 CRT monitorbecause I've never been able to afford anything more than a CRT monitor
>laptop 17"
JUST
>>137380168
there was at least one anon
>>137379929
enjoy watching your color accuracy become unyieldingly shit before your very eyes

but that's pentile type pixel layout though.
it's common knowledge that RGB >>> pentile

Not every OLED display is oversaturated gook Samsung trash.
>>137380168
projectors is an expensive hobby.
if you love marathoning anime you'll find yourself buying new bulbs like every year!
>>137380992
Maybe for small devices where you're up close to the display. The pentile matrix is not noticeable at TV distances, and the color accuracy on the PN60F5300 more than makes up for any shortcomings. Seriously, it's fucking awesome looking. Way better than even my Acer XR341CK.
>>137381110
my local craigslist has brand-new-in-box F5300 51 inch mode. That one has RGB pixels.
>>137381248
How much is it going for?
And it's up to you if you think the pentile actually affects it enough to go for the 51" instead. Like I said, it's not noticeable at all. The one caveat with these TVs is that the color profile on them is crap out of the box. There's some pretty close to universal calibration settings floating around somewhere though, so it's easily fixable.

on my Tablet
I usally watch anime before I go to bed.
Just lying down under the blanket.
Its more comfy that way
I try to watch them on my 50" plasma. It just looks way better that my eat sports BenQ monitor
I sometimes watch on my parents' large television during moments of privacy.
I think what's more visually stunning for anime rather than size or color is watching on a true 24fps display vs a 60fps display. Every time I transfer between the two it surprises me. The next monitor I buy is definitely going to be some multiple of 24hz.
