Yugioh is probably one of the few shows bearable to watch dubbed (Seasons 1-5). Yugi and Kaiba's voice actors are just 10/10 and I prefer them over the sub.In the new movie, the subbed voice actors sound better though.

The only correct answer is to read the manga, because no anime adaptation properly adapts it. Lots of changes whether you watch sub or dub, doesn't matter.
If you INSIST on watching it, then sub. Watch the Toei animation anime (plus movie) first, then start watching the Duel Monsters anime.
Dub is 4kids, so naturally it isn't even the same show.

He doesn't get to murder anyone in any of the anime adaptations as far as I'm aware, that's only in the manga. He does use that Mind Crush shit a lot though as a very generic penalty game in the DM anime, until Yugi makes him stop.

The first time I saw Yugioh was with the dub, so the american version of their names got stuck in my head, same with playing Yugioh tag force(also watching the abridged series didn't help) .
i would say you watch the sub version, but you can look for those version of the dub anime dialogue over the original version.

Also like other anons already said, reading the manga is also a good choice. But keep in mind that the anime and the manga are their own thing, the anime is an adaptation but it makes a lot of changes just to sell cards. Still is over the top, and good if you just want to watch something absurd,fun and kill time.

The complete absurdity of the dub was probably the only thing that kept me going through the early seasons. Then around the Dark World arc I switched to sub, and the transition actually worked out in GXs benefit.
