Slice of Life isn't cute girls having fun, and don't confuse it with Iyashikei "healing" anime.
Slice of Life is where the show's primary focus is on the minutia of the characters daily life. That's why even somewhat exotic, futuristic settings like in Aria or YKK, or spooky, otherworldly settings as in Mushishi can be considered Slice of Life.
