I just finished the first season of chuunibyou.
It had good moments but I didn't like the ending at all.
Is the anime worth watching ?

Chunni is pretty entertaining for a mental disorder because it gives animoos an excuse to portray teenagers as stupids instead of supercompetent mature individuals.
I felt like the 'love' part of the show was pretty stupid. She can barely even talk with him in a coherent fashion, isn't it like dating a retard?
Couldn't get past episode 3, shit wasn't amusing to watch.
Season two is garbage, don't even bother.

S1 was okay, the drama kind of killed it.
Didn't finish S2, dropped it and I don't think I've heard anyone say anything good about it.
I grew out of chuunibyou when I got into HS. I still enjoy a little bit of the cheesiness though I'm a bit more self-aware of it now.

Why do people hate season 2? I liked it a lot except the ending was retarded but it was a fun ride. If you aren't too serious about it, it was just a fun SoL thats worth watching just because chuunis are cute.

If it was a ride, it was a ride of disappointment if anything. The show keeps going up and up like its going to give you something amazing, and then it turns out the biggest hill on the ride ends with a 20 degree slope until you eventually cruise back into the station.
also as is the case withalmostevery chuuni thread here's what would've made s2 better, maybe even comparable to s1.-Give the kiss in the first episode so the drama with Satone would feel more genuine
-Either make the "Dark Flame Dragon" idea the focus or get rid of it, it had barely any purpose being shoehorned in like that
-The closest to character development for the main two characters was the school trip, even then that wasn't enough
-more chuuni fights. I don't care that I wanted this in the first season, the lackadaisical tone of the second season would've been perfect for it
-If all else fails turn the cheek kiss on the school trip into a full on kissbest girl and waifu

It shouldn't have been a season 2. It should just have been a few OVAs focused entirely on Shinka and Dekomori and maybe the new character, with the main cast appearing in the background occasionally.
Maybe it could've been a spin-off season based on the same premise, but that's about it. Rika and Utah's story was done with, they didn't need anymore screentime.
