It's not quite wortth reading solely for Erika alone, but once you add Dlanor in there, it's certainly worth reading for the two of them.

You don't even need Erika. Dlanor is perfection.
Erika doesn't even appear until the second half of the series: Chiru. But yes, she really is worth the wait and one of my favorite antagonists.
You will probably enjoy episodes 1-4 though, they're the best written episodes and have incredible moments of glory and spookiness. Also if you have a thing for MILFs and the supernatural you won't be bored.
Umineko isn't really worth reading and Erika isn't anything special.

She is an awful cunt. If anything, the VN makes you hate her in an incredibly efficient way, while still connecting to her as she has reasons and motivations for all of her otherwise bizzare actions, and for everyone else not liking her(Including Dlanor at the end).

Episode 3 is probably the most memorable of the series. It's not until then that Battler learns how to fight back, so episode 2 is a little slow. I still kinda like 2, since it's the most like a horror movie, but maybe that only happens towards the end. It's been ages since I last read any of this.

Episode 2 probably has the slowest start in the whole series, it's more just introducing the whole meta-battle concept and the red truth and such. There are some pretty decent fights, and the end is really, really hype though.
