Although in the Negimaverse, as far as I can tell, becoming a vampire basically means tapping into the Black Magic of Venus, albeit on a much, much simpler level than say, Magia Erebea. Touta was born with huge concentrations of Black Magic within his body, so becoming a vampire was dead simple for him. It's hard to say if he's even technically a vampire anymore, as it kinda seems like Magia Erebea more or less replaced his vampiric abilities. Makes sense, seeing as they're basically the same thing, just on two completely different levels.
