I think Shippuuden might get a worse rap than it deserves. Its definitely not the best anime ever and it can be very fun at times but when the the way they speak of legendary characters and then you finally get to see them fight hundreds of episodes later can only be accomplished over very long series. Sometimes its the buildup that makes it fun.

It shows that Kishimoto never intended to go past the childhood arc but was forced to do so anyway either out of greed or a contract or whatever. It starts off ok but that's only due to the excitement of seeing the characters all grown up, once that excitement ends it all starts coming apart at the seams.
And the anime is even worse since it comes with massive amounts of filler, much of it trash. Some of it is better than the main series though.
