It's one of the few western fairytale-like stories that doesn't just sound foreign and alien to them. Like most folk stories are so culturally centered that they lose all meaning to those outside of that context. Try telling Hanzel and Gretel to somebody not from america and europe and you'll lose them on the first line. It's like trying to tell the story of the peach boy to an american.

Alice in Wonderland is sort of unique in that it isn't really too stuck in a cultural context, and what context there is leans towards that aristocratic victorian british aesthetic that's so vogue in japanese fantasy anyways.

I havent seen any atheists with organizations on that scale, despite all the bitching about how evil the church is.

This is a big part of why it works in other cultures. It's full of nonsense and made up words, and the point is very clearly in the sound and verse instead of in the specific meanings of words. You don't even have to be able to speak english to appreciate what makes the story timeless, and in fact it's often used public school english classes across the world.

It's the same reason people defend Islam. It's "their culture" so they get a pass. It's their culture to kill anyone who objects to Allah, their culture to rape their women as they please and give women 0 rights, etc.

If you do a good deed you can do it without religion backing you. If you preach this hate speech that goes on in the world, you can't do it without religion backing you, otherwise the world will call you out on the nut you are

Christmas is a cultural holiday about christmas trees with lights. It existed and was celebrated by the ancestors of our culture long, long before jesus was born or the word 'bible' had ever been spoken. By your logic, if the muslims changed the date of Eid to correspond with family day, we'd have to cancel it as it's no longer a secular holiday.

People can worship christ on the 24th of december if they so choose, the rest of us (eg. the secular majority) hang stockings on the chimney and leave out milk and cookies for a fat german in a red suit.

Steven Hawking is proof God exist and will strike you down if you're a smug atheist twat.

And you know what, I'll say it, theoretical physics and such don't impress me.
Its theoretical, oh boy your played with numbers all day to play with what if scenarios, but you have no means to prove it.
I'm so more impressed by Steven Hawking than mechanic or than a doctor.

Crippled faggot

If he can count stars and numbers all day to come up with the possibility of black holes.
He probably could have read, studies, hired a lab assistant to find a cure for his condition or any condition.

In the end, if Steven Hawking did what he does and wasn't in a wheel chair, no one would give a fuck, he'd be another British Atheist wasting science on stuff than helps no one. Its a gimmick that makes his science seem important.
Same for Dawkins, if he wasn't so smug and stepping on religious toes, he'd just be some college biology professor in Britain.

I live in Texas and for like a century or so our state pledge has been
