He never said that. Tatsuya can't see in space to begin with but theoretically, he can destroy a planet, but he can't single target a planet. It depends on the form of the target decomposed though. Reminder that it has absolutely no value for combat.

It's not very practical and given the amount of controversy Scorched Halloween caused, its value is more in being a deterent. Using MB now with the on-going tension against magicians is probably a really bad idea. I wonder how exactly Tatsuya will "rage" next volume and if it does include MB. Depends on whether Gu Jie used his Puppet Magic on any innocent bystanders, students or characters that you can't just decompose, blow up or squash like a bug for reasons. There's also the enhanced JSDF soldiers but I don't seem them as a threat. Maybe if Canopus or Lina showed up to fight any of them. I think volume 19 is also supposed to have some girls mahou shoujo short story so my inclination is Gu Jie dies very very quickly and so does everyone else that's an opponent.

The only relevant males in that chapter were Tatsuya, Katsuto, Takuma and Masaki. None of them had any dealings with both Mayumi and Mari in that volume except for Tatsuya. Mari and Mayumi have a discussion about him so it makes sense that he is in the background. It's too skinny to be Katsuto. Not the right hair for Takuma.

There are no parasites in this arc. Both Katsuto and Masaki could destroy the parasite bodies, but they might jump to a different host. Who destroys who depends on cast speed, we don't know anything about Genzou's cast speed. Not sure where you get that distance does not matter for MI magic, you need target location.
