Combo ending where after fighting zeal in black omen lavos doesn't show up. Instead they take the epoch to day of lavos but instead of crashing into him, they land where they would have ended up had they taken the bucket. Magus joins their party.
Rather have a Suikoden anime. Since the series is already an anime in video game form. But more importantly, there's a lot more story left untold.
Chrono Trigger told all the story it needed to in the game. And the games style was already ruined by the Dragon Ball GT team with animated cutscenes.

A unique idea would be to have Crono never actually speak, except close to the end. You could even have a joke where whenever he tries to actually open his mouth to say something, somebody interrupts him. It could be implied he talks, but you never actually hear him speak beyond a few grunts. Then, when the series is reaching its climax, you could have him speak at the most epic moment he possibly could, perhaps speaking to the final form of Lavos when all his friends are down for the count or maybe ripping Queen Zeal a new one. Or perhaps when he's brought back to life. Him "dying" half-way through the series might even make it easier.
I'd probably get Miyuki Sawashiro to play either Queen Zeal or Schala (or both?) btw.

I would never, ever want Crono to speak, but one single line at the very end, even if its one word, would be fine. Having him rip into zeal makes no sense though, since that's both not the end, and also literally Magus' job.
